My younger sister cancer

I had my LAVH with BSO for endo and adenomyosis in May 2002. My sister who is 46 years old and two years younger then me has also had surgeries for endometriosis. Now she has had a growth on her ovary that has been growing. They did tests and added a mammogram and her breast has a tumor too. The doctor told her that it is "highly likely" that it is cancer and that an oncologist will have to do a hysterectomy on her, and will do a biopsy of her breast in only a week and a half. She hasn't had much notice, like I had to absorb it all. I feel so sad. She is divorced and never was able to have children because the endo scarred her tubes so much, she had a tubul pregnancy and a miscarriage. She has no one where she lives to take care of her. I will be able to go help and one other sister who lives out of her state too, but we can only be gone for a few days. I just don't know what to do but pray to God for help and mercy for her. She is devastated and scared totally. She is very isolated and alone, except for people she works with who really won't be of help. I'm really scared of losing her too. Totally scared and sad for her. Hyster sister is what helped me to cope with my own endometriosis and hysterectomy. She does not have a computer though. I think she is even too depressed to read a book. But I will trust that God will help and she will come through the hyst and breast biopsy. We will ask the doctor to give her home health care nurse, other then that we will have to see. Our dad died in 2002 from cancer. I know she is suffering. Thanks for letting me vent. Jerianne

My younger sister cancer

Jerianne,

I am sorry your sister is facing cancer and surgery. If she does not have a computer maybe you could print off the Checkpoints at the top of the page and give to her.

She is very fortunate to have a caring sister like you who she can depend on. I am sure she will be so thankful and appreciate any help you can give even if it is only for a few days. You still can communicate and support her even if you won't be there in person the whole time.

Saying prayers for your sister and for you. Wishing her the best in her surgery and care.

I think it's wonderful that you are able to be with your sister at a time like this. It's speaks volumes about your caring Please, give her our well wishes and let her know we would love to have her join us if she ever has computer access.

Take care and God bless you both.

My younger sister cancer

I have 2 sisters who have dealt with breast cancer. We three are on the phone a lot to say the least. It will be wonderful for her to have you a few days, but it is equally nice to have someone a phone call away. I wish her a speedy recovery.

I print out tons of stuff for my sister bc she doesn't have a computer either. She loves to get my bits of info in the mail. Maybe you could help her that way too.

Best to both of you.
