Vivelle Dot - Do Stretch Marks Affect Absorption?

This may be a dumb question, but I haven't been able to find the answer anywhere. I'm using the Vivelle dot, .10 mg. I'm applying it to my abdomen, but I have a LOT of stretch marks because I lost a lot of weight several years ago. My question is this -- does putting a patch on an area where there are stretch marks affect absorption? The skin is thinner there and I didn't know if that was a good thing or not. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

I just started the .10 mg. strength dot on Monday because I was having hot flashes and night sweats on the .05 mg. strength. I was a little surprised at how much bigger the .10 mg. dot is -- about twice the size of the .05 mg.! I guess that makes sense though since it's twice as strong. And it's still much, much smaller than some of the other patches. I feel a little jittery on the higher strength, plus I think I'm retaining more water, because my rings are harder to put on. Do you think this will even out as my body gets used to this strength?

Thanks a lot. One thing I'm finding out for sure in this jungle -- just when you think you've got one thing figured out up pops another one!

Vivelle Dot - Do Stretch Marks Affect Absorption?

Hi Jillio,
I was on the .075 Vivelle Dot for 6 months and then went back to the .05 because I felt that it was too much estrogen. Perhaps it would be a good strength for you to try. It is also larger than the .05 dot, but I would imagine it is somewhat smaller than the .1 You can trying cutting 1/4 off your .1 dot to give that strength a try.
Good luck!
PS I hae stretch marks,too!
