Mammogram today....

Radiologist wanted me to have an ultrasound because he didn't like what he saw. TAH on Tuesday and ultra sound on Monday.

Just another problem to worry about.

I want someone to tell me that this is just a precaution and usually nothing.

Mammogram today....

Hi Sheri,

Everytime I have a mammogram they don't like what they see either and they always use special attachments as well that connect to machine to spread the breast more. Then they usually do an ultrasound.

So don't panic just yet it may or may be nothing just concentrate on staying positive for your hyster and deal with anything else later.

My thoughts are with you...............Karen

in the same boat

I also am having TAH 05/04 and I know what your feeling went in to see gyn and next thing I knew I was told that I also had a lump in my left breast. Went for my mammogram the next week and was told that it looked promising that wasn't cancerous I've often thought how did I get here. ??? Saw a general surgeon who is going to remove the lump during the same procedure and my TAH. I get that it's best to not have to have two surgerys in a row but am a little worried about trying to lift and support myself wiht my arms if needed. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Mammogram today....

That happened to me too. I had my usual fun and exciting mammogram on Valentines day. The following week I got a v-mail message at work saying that they needed to relook at my right breast, something about "dense" material.

my assistant and I were laughing that my right breast was a "boob". I didn't even think anything about it. Went in for my re-check and the person took the pictures and said just wait here while we check and make sure they are ok. So waiting there for a few minutes, in she comes and says they can see a lump so we are going to do an ultrasound.

I think my stomach fell to the floor. So they brought me right over to the next room and in 15 minutes I was having an ultrasound. Not even time for the whole thing to sink in.

The technician didn't say much, all she asked is when did I notice the lump. I mumbled something about I didn't... I just thought I was here to get the right mammogram redone. Surprise!

Well after she finished she said she would show the results to the doctor and would be right back. I nearly cringed (remember I am trying to look brave and withouth a worry in the world!) when she came back with the doctor in tow.

Then the docto showed me the lump, said it looks like a benign cyst. And if I wanted they could remove it... but we could just leave it alone unless it bothers me.

All those emotions in just a short-time. Good luck on yours may it be as uneventful as mine was.

Mammogram today....

Thanks. I just wish I would have done this mammogram thing earlier so there would be time to take care of any removal or biopsy whatever at the same time as my TAH. As it is my ultrasound is scheduled for Monday and my surgery is scheduled for Tuesday.

Are you worried about your arms being sore from having the lump removed? I had a benign lump removed years ago and never had any pain at all from the surgery. Good Luck to you!
