Posterior Repair Didn't Take

I went to my DR to day because of buldge that I thought was from my surgery. It wasn't, something else. However, during my lovely visit to the DR or should I say I saw the NP today, she told me that she didn't feel that my posterior repair that the DR did 5 weeks ago "took". I had a cold and cough that started a week ago and it made it so that it didn't work and put pressure on the stiches. I'm looking at another surgery, I guess. I see my DR in a week for my 6 week check up. I thought this would be a slam dunk. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem before and have they had surgery that quick? I'm wondering if they are going to wait or do it right away. I'm also wondering what the recovery time is going to be for just this surgery. Can anyone help with some info?

Posterior Repair Didn't Take

Oh gosh...I would imagine that the recover time is the same as you will be having the work done again...I had Retocele with my TVH and am at 6 weeks today. My DR. said at least 8 weeks.

But, if I were you I would wait until your Dr. tells you how your surgery went. I would NOT rely on what a NP says.

I was seeing a NP for the last 5 years for my yearly. I explained all my symptoms. She did paps, and that was it.

My insurance provider changed so I had to see a new GYN. He did one exam and found a tumor! Said it had been there at least 2 years. He could feel it with his fingers!

When questioned, later,The NP said she never felt a thing and had no idea at all, anything was ever wrong with me!

Wait and talk to your DR. about all your questions.

Hope that you do not have to go through more surgery...
