air pocket?

I was hospitalized last week (4 weeks PO) for 2 days due to severe pain and the fact that I thought there was air coming from the vagina.

They told me that they found an air pocket between the rectum and the vagina on a CT scan. They said they couldn't really tell more about it and before putting me through more tests they wanted me to wait until my 6 week post op check to see if I still have issues. I do. Pain is just one of them, but I think its mainly brought on by myself by doing too much.

Now, I couldn't find any information what an 'air pocket' in that area means? Does this mean its a hernia or what?

Any info you can share would be appreciated. I can't count on my doctor who didn't tell me the first time I had been in the ER for massive nausea that I had this air pocket there. He's useless.......

air pocket?

Sorry you are having problems with pain. I am not familiar with air pockets. I would take it easy and rest and see if it subsides.

Hopefully it will get better and if not , I would see about further tests to see what the problem is. Also, if you do not find satisfaction from your dr at your 6 weeks visit, then you might consider another dr who you feel comfortable with.

Sending best wishes to you.
