What about HRT for me? What about HRT for me?

What about HRT for me?

I'm just wondering about this, because I am having hot flashes and I'm seeing my doctor for the first time since surgery on Friday.

Yes, my pathology reports all came back showing no malignant cells. BUT, the tumours I had were the kind that make up the most common kind of ovarian cancer. It could have been just a matter of time. I don't know what the statistics are on these tumours becoming cancerous. But should I treat myself as if they WERE cancer regarding HRT? Since they could have been on their way? I'm not real keen on HRT and I did watch that tv show last night that said that estrogen makes matters worse for women who have heart problems and probably doesn't do much protection of the heart at best. It does do some other good things . . .

Hmmm. Any thoughts?

What about HRT for me?

I always like to go with the "Better to be safe than sorry" motto. Have you spoken to any of the gals on the Hormone Jungle? There is so much info there, and I am sure that you could really benefit from it too!

What about HRT for me?

Hi Artic,

I too would check this out on the Hormone Jungle, they have some great info. I gathered a bunch of ideas, wrote them all down and took it to the appointment with me. Asked about them all to see if any of the ideas would work for me. I got some great ideas, some I could use, some not but it really helped weed my way through all the options.

I too, go by the "better safe" theory. Hopefully your Dr will be able to give you some help in this area. Keep us posted on how you're doing. {{hugs}}

Take care,
