Throbbing Pain Deep in Buttocks

I am 9 months out (Aug, 2004) after a TAHBSO for uterine cancer. I still have bruised feeling in lower abdomen and incision tenderness when I do too much, lift something heavy and by the end of the day sometimes I have a throbbing sensation deep in the buttocks that is very uncomfortable. Anyone have that feeling? I have had my pap smear checkups every 3 months and all of the cancer is gone. I was in Stage I. I, also, have had a herniated disc pressing on the sciatic nerve that is very painful at times. My dr. thinks the herniated disc has something to do with the deep pain in the buttocks, but I never had that pain until after the hysterectomy. Please help!!! I am on the <Oops! Please don't mention insurance company names on the message boards.> so can't go anywhere else. Mae Dean

Throbbing Pain Deep in Buttocks

Hi,

Sorry you are having pain. I did not have the pain you are describing, but had hip pain and it lasted almost a year and then it was gone. I think the surgery is hard on the body. Your body has been through a lot and everyone heals differently. It may take some of us a little longer to heal .

Does it help to soak in a warm tub or take over the counter medications for pain? Maybe this will help some. I had to do this for a few months until things worked their way out. I would not overdo and rest to see if it lets up.

I hope you feel better soon. I know how frustrating to have something hanging on like this when you feel you should be better and not even know where it came from.

Throbbing Pain Deep in Buttocks

I too discoverd lower back/upper butt pain when working out on one machine at the gym, and caused little electricuation pains that radiated outward when i did the repitition, I talked to my dr and sure enough it is a herniated disk. I make sure to take it easy not to cause extra problems when working out now
