This may be a dumb question but, I have never used lubricant before. I go to the Dr. tomarrow and I think I will get the OK to have sex, everyone says start out slow and use lots of lubricant. So, do you put the lubricant on me, or DH?? or both??

Hi, This is what I love about the support on this site. Who else could you ask? Either way works for me--on him for a little fun up front...or me if we're cutting right to the chase. Good luck.

Hi Hoogie,

I do both but it might depend on which type of lubricant you use. I'll be asking my doc for a recommendation on what type of lubricant she suggests and how to use it. I know some come with applicators to insert into the vagina. Frankly, in the past, I found applying the lube to hubby to be fun...

I hope all goes at your check up!

Not dumb at all!

We usually do both - trial and error works best and if your taking it slow you will be able to find out what works best for you!
Good luck and enjoy!

HI, I have used lubricants for a few years due to driness issues from previous surgerys . and I find it to be more comfortable for me. if I use a little and I put a little on DH. this way I am sure not have any friction. hope this helps. it is nice to see other ladies getting back into the swing of things. I am only 4wks post op so I have to wait a little longer . but I have the lube ready for when the time comes. Take Care, Cathy

My advice would be to have the lube on the bedside table, but you may be surprised and find out that you don't even need it. If you do need it, I agree with outwtheold that the warming lubricant is irritating.

We ended up having to use the lubrication only once, and that was not long after a silver nitrate treatment that seemed to dry things out a bit. I found it to be more helpful and less messy to put it on DH. Believe me, he didn't complain.
