vaginal dilator

Hi June Ali, Ah, the vaginal dilator. When I was first told to use the vaginal dilator I thought that there is no way I will use it and I didn't for about 6 months. Slowly I couldn't have sex anymore and my vagina shrunk to 3 centimeters long and about 2 fingers width. I am married and I could no longer have sex with my husband, never mind the important follow up exams. I saw a plastic surgeon who my oncologist recommended me to and she gave me a tissue expander because I could no longer get the dilator in. I ended up having extensive surgery because my whole vagina turned into a mass of scar tissue and while they removed that tissue they rebuilt my vagina. I can now have sex, follow up exams and I faithfully use the dilator. Not everyone scars up like I did but I had a new procedures done to rebuild my vagina that no one had ever had before and it would have been so much simpler to just use the dilator from the start. Good luck with the dilator.

Hi, Thanks for posting your story. I had No idea things could get that serious. Was just told the dilators were to get you started with sex again as intercourse might be uncomfortable to begin with. Thanks for the warning.
