Climara patch and other HRT questions

Hello sisters!
Having some insomnia this morning, so thought I'd stop in and get a couple of posts taken care of.

My question is this - somehwere on our wonderful board one of our sisters said she couldn't tolerate oral birth control pills at all, but has done very well with the Climara patch. Has anyone else had this experience?

I can't tolerate BCP either. Dh calls then b**ch pills. Basically, yeah! They just make me horribly moody and crabby. Dr. has suggested some low dose HRT after surgery since I am only 35.

I also wonder if I should wait awhile to start it? He says he is getting rid of all the endo, but what if there's one hiding somewhere? I don't wnt to go on HRT and just feed it and still have pain after all this, you know?

Should I ask to wait 6 months? one year?

What have you ladies done?

I'm scheduled for Monday. Trying to stay calm and get things done. Not killing myself over it, though!

Any advice/experience you can share will be much appreciated!

Hugs,
Jo

Climara patch and other HRT questions

I am on the Climara patch and love it. (My DH has no complaints either!) I too had severe endometriosis, and my doctor told me he'd make the decision one he got in there whether or not I'd wake up with the patch. You're right - you don't want to feed the endo! My doctor said basically if it was bad he'd make me wait before starting it, but if not I'd start right away. Well I woke up from surgery with it on my shoulder, and it's worked out just fine.

Good luck to you on Monday!
