Actually my doc made a comment about my rather low BP. But it's always been low, so I don't think the fibroids affected it .

blood pressure

My blood pressure always goes up when I go to see the doctor but lately it has been going up further. I don't know if it has anything to do with the fibroids or not but I wouldn't be surprised at anything at this point. I know that my other organs must be tasked some because the uterus is large and the tumors are large too. I don't have much room in my torso for much of anything else. When I was pregnant with my twins I felt some of the same things I am feeling now(like heartburn, and heavy breathing and other such things like that)
This too shall pass(excuse the pun)

blood pressure

Hi audiann;

I've had high blood pressure for quite sometime now and have been taking medicine for it.

Even with my medicine, it ran high but, since my surgery, my BP has been much lower!

I still take my medicine but now I am in the normal range!

Good luck to you!

blood pressure

I had high bp pre-surgery, audiann, but didn't have fibroids. In the hospital post-sugery, my bp was low (90/60) so they held off some of my bp med. They explained that this is fairly common following surgery due to all the sleep meds they give you. However, 10 days post-op, my bp is still running around 96/70. If it holds this low for all of next week, they are going to adjust my meds taking me off of 1 (I currently take a morning and evening dose).

This is certainly an unexpected benefit from the surgery! Guess all the pain and inconvenience prior to the surgery would lead to higher bp but I never thought about it!

Good luck - hope your bp fall into line as well.

blood pressure

I have hbp that became that way suddenly last November. It was always really low before (90/64) then suddenly it went up to 164/130. I've been on meds since then and it's in the normal range but still not my usual. My surgery isn't until June 21, but everyone suspects it will go down. (I don't have fibroids though).

I'll let you know.

bp update

my bp went down a whole lot (they were a little worried) right after the operation and it still hasn't been high (6 days post op) but primary care physician said watch it. if it doesn't go up, don't take the drugs, if it does, go back on them. I guess that's pretty basic. I'll still follow up, in case the question comes up with someone else.
