Is this a cyst or what??

Hi there, I had posted about this last week, but didn't get much response. Here's the deal... I had a TAH with bladder suspension on 11/8/00. Not too much trouble with recovery, but had to go back to work at 3 weeks and probably started lifting my 1 year old too soon. Anyway, almost two weeks ago I started having cramps like I had with endo and fibroids for the six months or so before my TAH. After a few days of that, I went to my doctor, he did an exam and said he felt a cyst on my left ovary along with some general inflammation. He gave me cleocyin vaginal suppositories for the inflammation (also have burning and itching, painful intercourse - I think maybe vulvodynia). The suppositories didn't help at all, and now I took a diflucan to see if that will help with the burning/itching. He gave me prometrium to help the cyst go away, and it's making me feel really irritable (as a side note, I had one depo provera shot a few years ago for birth control, and it made me feel like I was going to kill people and I had burning stinging pain around my face and head). So, I called back a couple of days later for some pain meds (they gave me vicoprofin which is not helping much) and he now wants to do a sonogram next Tuesday because it sounds like something "isn't right". Any opinions from you wonderful ladies would be very helpful. I'm soooooo tired of being in pain and having my marriage and sex life suffer from all of this.

Is this a cyst or what??

{{JenMom}},
After my TAH I was having more pain on my right side. After an exam by my Gyn he ordered an Ultrasound which showed an enlarged right ovary that was covered in multiple blood filled cysts along with a mass. At 12 weeks postop I had a Lap to determine what the mass was and to remove my right ovary. The mass turned out to be Scar Tissue that was attaching the ovary to my vaginal cuff I was told that the ovaries were a commonplace for Scar Tissue, after surgery, which can be painful This might be a possibility you could mention to your Doc. I hope the Sonogram will reveal the cause of your pain. Please let us know how it goes
