Temperature anyone

Hi Everybody,

I am three days post-op, and ran a slight fever today for awhile, it is gone now, I called my doctor and he said to take some tylenol... and rest, I go to the doctor tomorrow morning to have my staples removed. I was just wondering if anyone experienced the same thing after their surgery?

Thanks,
Cheryl

A slight fever is normal but anything over 100.4 F you should give your doctor a call. Some doctors will even wait til 101.0. Each doctor is different. You should have that info on your discharge papers from the hospital on exactly when your doctor wants you to call with a fever. Hope you are feeling better.

Temperature anyone

Hi Melissa,

Thank you so much for the information....I did call my doctor, it is back down now to normal. But I was worried for a few minutes. I feel much better now, the fever has gone back down and tomorrow I see the doctor to have my staples out. Thank you so much for answering me so quickly.

Temperature anyone

Cheryl,

I had a temperature last night and again today, and I'm 5 weelks post TVH. My DR says I don't need to call him unless it's 101 degrees, and it has only been 100 F. So, I guess I shouldn't worry, but I do, a bit.

Hope your check up gets to the reason for the temperature.

Best wishes,
Luci

Temperature anyone

Hi Luci,

It has been fluctuating between like 99 and 100.4, the doctor told me this morning it really is no big deal. She said it is to be expected after major surgery and they don't consider that a fever. They did take my staples out this morning, so that was a relief....So I am just supposed to watch it and see what happens.

Thanks for the information.....talk to everybody soon

Temperature anyone

Hi luci,

Mine keeps going up and down....but I still worry a little even though the doctor said that....My only other real problem is trying to find a way to sleep through the night, it seems I can only sleep a few hours at a time then I am up again....but I guess this to shall pass..

I wish everyone speedy recoveries.....I know it does seem to get easier everyday...thank the good lord.

Cheyrl
