To flash or not to flash that is the question

Hey...
I had TAH on 5/9. My uterus prolapsed and it caused me to have irrigular cramps, periods, missing days off work, you name it. No complications after the surgery, thank the lord, but I have a rose nyland question (remember from the golden girls)....

ok...first before I had the surgery, I stayed cold most of the time, because I'm anemic (hope I spelled that right), but now that I have had the surgery, I"m experiencing hot flashes. I get this unusual feeling of warmth and it feels like it building up. Then at night I go through the same thing, I woke up with a little sweat on my forehead and chest. Is that a night sweat? My relatives tell me that they wake up dripping in sweat and sometimes have to change the pillowcase, pj's, etc. It occurs for a few minutes then go away and them comes back. Is there a such thing as having too many hot/cold flashes in one day?
It sometimes feel like I'm sitting on Satan's lap and then it feels like I'm sitting on an Eskimo. I'm taking Estroven for hot flashes and mood swings.....Thank you....PS: Is anyone else taking this pill?

Hi Peaches!

I have moved your post over here to the No-Hormone Desert Oasis where others who aren't using hormones can share experiences with you. There are probably others here who use Estroven.

That sounds like hot flashes/night sweats to me. Not everyone will experiences them to the same degree. Thank goodness for that, right?

I hope you get some good feedback from your Sisters!

Peaches -

Yup, I hink that you are having a good 'ole hot flash Not all of us drip in sweat constantly - in fact many women say they are OK except that the "flashes" wake them up and they don't sleep soundly.

I haven't used estroven - I did use remifemin for a while and it helped some. What really did help was time as time went on, the hot flashes got milder and milder. Now, I just get them at the change in seasons.
