Losing it.........

I am scheduled for my pre-op tomorrow morning, with TVH to follow on Wednesday the 29th. I think I am losing it, I have so many things to do with it being the end of the school year for my kids, and with trying to prepare myself for this surgery. I am over emotional, can't sleep and when I do sleep I have nightmares, anxiety yadayadayada. I just want this to be over. I have been waiting for this since April, I am 35 and having a TVH for adenocarcinoma-in-situ. I had a cone biopsy April 6th with clear margins but because AIS can hide my doctor thought this was the best option. I am thankful for this site and all the information and support it offers.

Losing it.........

Deena-
First off, relax-------------- take a deep breath.
The wating is the hardest part, dont try to be wonderwoman getting ready for this surgery, because no matter how much you get done, you'll wish you had gotten something else done. Dont spend your time worrying and fretting ( I know, easier said than done) but try to focus on a few important things, like making a few meals and freeze them, and talking to you kids about how you will need their help, enjoy the time you have to play with your kids now, as for a few weeks post-op, you wont feel like it.
Treat your self, to a manicure, a pedicure, even a massage, as the surgery date nears, you'll find yourself more relaxed...

Hang in there, you'll do fine!

I think how you are feeling is normal, I experienced it too. I found that the more I got accomplished, the less anxiety I had. There are a few things I probably won't get done before my surgery tomorrow, but at least I got the inportant things done. Take it easy on yourself though. Best of Luck!!!
Blessings and Prayers!

Losing it.........

I've had a couple of weird dreams too lately. Everyone says waiting is the hardest part. Soon this will be past and we'll be back here telling everyone else not to worry.

Losing it.........

Hi ya Deena!

This is definately the place to SHOUT it out! We will listen and back you up! I did the same thing last week, depressed, angry, short temper, told my DH I wanted a divorce, that I was cancelling surgery, and moving out to be by myself!! Talk about a temper tantrum

Anyhow, my way of dealing this last week is what I call the "Gone with the Wind" frame of mind......"Oh fiddleedee, I'll think about that tomorrow...." Sounds crazy but it's working. Just not going to let it get to me. This sounds horrible, BUT........just incase something were to go wrong......I want to enjoy being with my family and not be an emotional basket case.

Just try and relax, read, take a walk, come visit the site and rant and rave..............

Losing it.........

Deena,

Looks like you have a lot of company in "losing it......" I am having trouble with my stomach and nerves. Luckily (I think) for me this is the second time I have had surgery scheduled - so my list was shorter to start. Take a deep breath - spend some time with your children and try to just do one thing on your list a day - we'll all be on the other side soon. I'll be thinking of you on the 29th.

Losing it.........

Hey Deena, we are going to be surgery day buddies. Mine is also scheduled for that day. Mine is at 12:30 in the afternoon, how about yours? I am having a possible tvh with a possible tah, leaving my ovaries with anterior and posterior repair. Yeah, I am finally getting all this terminology down.

I am doing this as a result of uterine prolapse ( my uterus is falling out). I have found myself very emotional, and can't quite figure out why. I decided it doesn't matter why. I figure it could be a number of things, none of which are life threatening. All too which will pass with time and circumstance, so I can live with it.

I can't wait to be on the other side. I lost my brother to cancer 3 years ago and it woke me up to life and living. I started running, yep me, a 45 (now 46) yr old mom of 5. I have completed two marathons.....can you believe it? I have lost 22 pounds and have another 25 to go....I am rambling. What I am trying to say is that there is a whole lot of living left for me and you to do. This is just one of many experiences we will have yet in our lives. Rent some funny movies, read some books you haven't had time too and relax. Wednesday will be here before we both realize and we'll soon be in the post op board.

Hugs to you and keep in touch. We can exchange war stories.

Not alone

Hi Deena,
Don't feel alone. I too am getting a little scared. I am worried that I will not be able to get everything done before my surgery. I too am scheduled for 06-29-05. Mine is scheduled for 0720 hrs so I have to be there at 0600 hrs. Have a 9 & 10 year old to get off to day camp (husband will bring them) but they can't be dropped off before 0700 hrs. My husband is leaving for Cub Scout camp on 07-03-05 and I am a little apprehensive how I will be feeling by then. My 10 year will be around to help out but don't want to put too much pressure on her. I don't know when I need to see the DR after surgery. I am guessing 1-2 weeks after.
OK, deep breathes... I hope you find some peace in your life before surgery. Good luck on surgery day. I will be thinking about you. Karen
