brain fog

Hi all...has anyone else experienced a bit of post-op brain fog, or is it me? I find that I keep forgetting things...events, or people's names. Not often, just every now and then. Maybe it's the residual anesthesia?

It's a little spooky...and of course when it happens I get all freaked out. Anyone?

Hi Karen!

Yup, sounds familiar! I would find myself searching for the right word! Nevermind what day of the week it was!

brain fog

Definately have brain fog. I have these books and magazines to read and can't seem to concentrate on anything. Forgetting simple words seems more the norm than not. I don't usually take 6 x-strength tylenol every day and definately have never had a morphine pump, just think how our brians feel! My DH has been very patient, I'll go to ask him for something and can't remember the words! Drives both of us nuts - thankfully he's a patient man! Maybe I should take a leaf out of his book! Take care this too will pass! I'm 3 weeks post op and can't wait for 3 months post op! Claudia

Hi Karen, we had our little trip to the castle the same day I think, and I am experiencing the same brain fog, My dh thinks it is very funny when I don't remember things. My dr told me if it coninued he would raise my hrt levels, I am not having any of the other hormonal symtoms so we are just waiting it out to see if I quit having brain farts. I am getting so I just laugh along with my dh. take care and don't worry to much about it.

brain fog

Brian fog? Oh, yea! I keep losing things and then finding them in the wierdest places..........got a phone call the other day and 5 minutes later couldn't remember what the person calling told me. It's driving me nuts I usually am very detail-oriented and don't forget much.................some days it doesn't happen at all and other days I can't remember anything from one minute to the next. Oh well it's keeping things interesting!

Brain fog?

Isn't that just the natural state? I've had it for years.

Thanks, ladies! I'm relieved to hear it isn't just me!! If it's happening to all of us, it must be somewhat normal.

Of course, after I posted my question, I answered the TV remote. Hmmmm.......

Thanks again!

brain fog

Brain fog is DEFINITELY normal, Brain fog is Defi..., oh I just said that! My DH tells me I'm repeating myself and I can't remember simple words to insert in the middle of a perfectly good sentence so I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever be able to ace a category in Jeopardy again. I'm three weeks PO too, I hadn't thought about the hormone connection, I thought it was just the surgery and the meds. I'll have to pay more attention Hah! that's funny.
