Vivelle .1 to Vivelle Dot .1 ~ Hot flahes?

I switched yesterday from Vivelle .1 to Vivelle Dot .1. There was no lapse in wearing them. (Took Vivelle off, immediatly put Vivelle Dot on)

This morning I have had my first hot flash since day 3 of HRT.

I guess I just assumed that since the were both Vivelle, and both .1, that the level of estrogen in my system would be the same.

Anyone else have this problem?

Should I give the Vivelle Dot a few more days?

Do many of you need above a .1?

I have read on here of cutting the patches, is that a possiblity? (Say a .5 cut to .25 then added to the .1 for a total .125?) With Dr approval of course! :-)

Thanks in advance!

Vivelle .1 to Vivelle Dot .1 ~ Hot flahes?

I use Vivelle Dot .1mg and use 1/4 of another patch. Currently, I am changing them every 2 days, I couldn't go the 3 1/2 days. This keeps my symptoms in check.. My doctor has now ordered this and said it would be fine to use this dose.

As you are still very early post op I would give it some more time. It is not unusual for the hormone levels to fluctuate during the first few months post op. And yes, changing from one patch to another can cause symptoms also. The delivery can be a bit different, even though it's the same brand. I would give it some more time.
