Anyone get a blood clot in leg?

4 weeks post-op TAH/BSO, I was diagnosed with a blood clot in both legs. This didn't surprise me as I'd had 3 surgeries in a year, 2 of which were open-abdominal. They said I can't take hormone replacement right now, and I am on blood thinners for 6 months (was shots, now Coumadin tablet).

Has anyone else been through this? If so, (1) how long did the clot symptoms last? and (2) what did you do to curb the moodiness, hot flashes, insomnia, etc., since it's so hard to find things you can take with blood thinners?

Any advice is appreicated.

[Btw, if you think you have a blood clot, call your dr. and/or go to the ER as it can be very serious.]

Anyone get a blood clot in leg?

Hi,

I am sorry you are unable to take hrt and are having symptoms of menopause. I have not had a blood clot, but there are several ladies who cannot take hrt due to blood clots or cancer who have stopped by our No-Hormone Desert Oasis forum for some support and suggestions.

I do know that some have had success with anti-depressants that have shown to reduce hot flashes and help with some of the symptoms you are having.

We have some very good information in our Resources library at the top of the page and the Search feature(top of page on the right) as well.

You are welcome to come over to the No-Hormone Desert Oasis and see what others are doing that have the same situation that you are.

I hope this helps some.
