Angry at ultrasound tech

Yesterday I had an ultrasound for an ovarian cyst. When the tech asked why I had had a hysterectomy i told her for abnormal bleeding and adenomyosis. She muttered under her breath that that was a catchall. I said excuse me what did you say? She said when DRs don't know or JUST CUT FOR THE HECK OF IT - they say it is adenomyosis. I straightened her out quickly. I spoke to my DR and he said many medical people will see that I am 37 and had a hyster that they would assume that my DR and I were knife happy. He then said that we both wake up every morning knowing that we had done the right thing. God I love that man! People's ignorance makes me mad!

I had a scan tech once make her own diagnosis of a liver scan I had once. She told me " looks like cancer to me" OMG!! I was already scared to death and then shes says this.

I knew her, we live in a small town, and knew she only graduated HS....WAS NOT a Dr. So I called my Dr in tears and.......last time I saw her she was working as a cashier at the grocery store!!!

Turns out nothing was wrong and the scan was clear! So, bottom line first a "tech" is not supposed to say or tell you anything, other than being polite and doing their job. But, they are human and get carried away I suppose.

Her and the horse she rode in on!

What a mean, miserable person. I hope she stubs her toe today!

I agree that the us techs should just keep their mouths shut. I had my first us in December for a large fibroid (at the time it was 12cm). I went back in March for a follow up and and a different tech performed the us. She said that the fibroid had not gotten any bigger. I thought, yeah no surgery. I then scheduled my kids' summer camps thinking that I would be working all summer. A few days later the DD called to inform me that the fibroid had grown 22% in three months and that I would probably need surgery. I guess I should have known better than to listen to the us tech and waited for the call from the doctor.
