Surgery And Scared

I am going to have a hysterectomy (total) on July 18th 2005. I am very scared of the outcome. I have Ovarian Cysts, and endo. The bleeding is excessive, and I have about 4 days a month that I feel like I'm normal, the rest of the time I'm very bloated and have pain. I had laporoscopy to remove cysts in both ovaries, and exsessive scarring, my doc. had to remove my bladder from my uterus, and remove scar tissue from my rectum, this was in Feb. I have read the stories good and bad. I have 25lbs. I can't get rid of for the last 6 yrs. I am so frustrated, I don't want to gain weight it's my biggest fear, I'm only 4' 8" and I have 25lbs of extra weight. My estrogen levels are very high and I don't know what will happen after the surgery. I am very aware of my eating habbits, nothing fattening, and right now if I eat I feel as though I have eaten an eight course meal. I also exersise, does my story sound like anyone eles?????

Surgery And Scared

i am one week post op and trust me, I was a WRECK before the surgery most nights I couldn't sleep. I don't go to doctors unless it's an emergency so surgery for me was a big deal. the last time I was in the hospital was for childbirth, 18 years ago. on the day of the surgery I literally cried until they gave me a sedative. while waiting in the or I was totally hysterical. but guess what, I'm glad it's over and it was not as bad as I thought. my prayers are with you.

Surgery And Scared

Hi, I'm not quite as short as you at 5' 1 1/2." You are very tiny . I was a bit afraid of gaining weight as I had gained a LOT after my DD's were born. I had to lose over 75 pounds and sure didn't want any of it back.

After my tah/bso, I actually lost a few pounds. Mostly, I think, because of a reaction to pain meds and the fact that I had no appetite and couldn't eat much at a time. My family had to remind me to eat sometimes ( that hadn't happened before OR since). I'm very active so maintaining my weight has not been too difficult.

Best wishes, I'll be praying that all goes well for you.
