Adenomyosis Question

Does anyone else get low back pain and cramping after their cycle? I don't know if it is just me or if it is common.

Hi atorretti I also have that. It is probably due to the adneo. I also have what is called pevic congestion syndrome. Which means that the blood vessals in the broad legaments of my uterus are filled with blood and that also can cause lower back pain all the time. I hope that that helps.

for me the cramping was only during the cycle, but the back aches were very bad before my cycle and lessened up during my 7-10 day cycle and then tapered off. i must say that the back aches are just about gone since my hyst. i kept my overies so once a month i do have a slight lower bachache but only for a day or 2.

my dr. had no guarantees about the hyst helping my bachaches, because it may/may not have to do with an enlarged uterus. but it did help a lot

Just wondering, I have my TAH/BSO scheduled for 7-19. Has anyone experienced any mild numbness in the leg or on one side due to pressure from an ovarian cyst or fibroids? I think this is what has been causing mine.

Happywoman, how did you know that you had pelvic congestion syndrome?

me, me, me.

I have awful back pains, for about three weeks out of the month, due to adeno. I think I get them so badly because my uterus is tilted back and puts a lot of pressure on my back. I'm hoping the hysterectomy will get rid of these awful back pains. I also get cramps, starting about a week before my period and they last until almost a week after. I have both adeno and endo so not sure what is what when it comes to my pain.

Take care,

hi atorretti. Last sept when I had a laporoscopy done my gyn said that when he was looking at the broad ligaments of my uterus(sp?) he would tilt me back and forth and actually watch the blood flow back and forth in and out. This is something that should not happen. He actually called other doctors in to show them. The reason I had a lap was to see if I had endo and that is what we found . I hope that that helps.

Jacqueline, do they know how this happens?

Cathy- the top of my right leg is completely numb, from my groin to the hip. My fibroid is also larger on the right side. I've spoken to gyn & gp about this & their opinion is that it is a pinched nerve. I also spoke to my chiropractor & he tells me this is usually seen in fat men, & he feels it is a pinched nerve. GYN has seen this in other patients, & says that it usually resolves after surgery. Hope this helps!

TAH due to large fibroid, keeping ovaries.

atorretti. They do not know exactly what causes it but one theory is multiple pregnacies. Because when yoiu get pregnant your pelvic blood volume increases by 60% thus putting strain on the veins and the vaslves that let the blood go in and out nolonger work. I will give you a link to a web site that explains this in detail. I hope that that helps. THe link is
