Morning Nausea and Intestinal cramping

Has anyone experience daily morning nausea with intestinal cramping since their hysterectomy? I wake with this every morning, and once I am up and eat something I feel better... but I have had this along with left sided pain for months.. Am going for MRI and apt. with Gastric doctor this week....

Gallbladder has been checked and it is fine.. I am not diabetic either... otherwise in good health.

any ideas?

thanks

It could be IBS as that is how I felt off and on for quite sometime before I was officially diagnosed. How are your BM's? Are you constipated or do you have many loose stools during the day? Do you feel bloated or have lots of gas? These are some more of my symptoms at times, not always. I am glad you are seeing a Gastro as he is the one who can help make a diagnosis. Good luck to you............I know how you feel!

O.K. - so finally ..

What a shock it was for me to read what you are experiencing - as I too have the same exact symptoms - for a year now . Morning's are a bear for me at times - just getting out of bed due to the nausea . But like you , I am fine once I get going . It feels similar to Morning Sickness . I have an Ovarian Mass - which showed - up around the same time as the Nausea . The Dr's often treat me as if I'm crazy , as they don't understand how sick I feel in the Morning . The nausea bothers me at other times of the day as well , but it really rears it's ugly head when I first open my eyes in the morning . I have since changed my diet - coverted to Vegetarain - as I hoped it would help , also cut - back on the sweets . I had a Upper G.I about a month ago - showed - up clear . I believe my nausea is related to the Ovarian Mass , as they both appeared at the same time . Let me know what you find - out at the Dr's . I hope you get some relief soon . Take Care , life's embrace.

Morning Nausea and Intestinal cramping

To Life's Embrace,

Yes your symptoms sounds exactly like mine and what I have been dealing with for months. My GI appt. was yesterday, she feels it may be IBS, but is wanting to do a colonoscopy to rule out anything else (since there is a family history of colon cancer)...

I have also developed a ovarian cyst on right ovary since my hyterectomy... I am being followed up to watch it right now. I will be seeing my Ob/gyn next week about a followup ultrasound to be done end of July or early August timeframe....

Yes, doctors have looked at me like I am crazy when explaining the nausea situation .. and it IS almost like morning sickness since it is worse upon wakening.

keep me posted on your progress.. Is your ovarian mass a cyst?

thanks for responding... and take care..

Yes, It is a cyst on my left ovary - I did have my ovaries removed during my Hyster. - I even requested the Dr.'s surgical report which states that he removed my ovaries . I have had two Ultrasounds , one CT Scan . The pain is still present , but according to the recent Ultra. the cyst has shrunk slightly . I am scheduled to have another Ultra. the end of this month - to see if the cyst is gone , as the Dr . believes it will be . I am seeing a Gy/Onc. now as my Primary Care Dr. turned my case over to him .

I experienced Colon problems a few yrs. ago - thank goodness it has'nt appeared again . I was noticing that I would bleed after using having a bowel movement - once it was a large amount of blood . I went to the Dr. - whom sent me to Gastro. Dr. even though he thought nothing was wrong with me - - well a colon ployp was discovered and removed during the colonoscopy. Goes to show , we have to stay on top of things when it comes to our bodies / health . I think that Dr. are ofter in denial that something could actually be going - on with us .

I hope all goes well with the tests you are getting . Keep me posted .

Morning Nausea and Intestinal cramping

Hi!

I've been having similar symptoms for the past fortnight now, and unable to go to work due to my discomfort.
I started having nausea on waking about 2 weeks ago, and recently can actually be sick if I walk too fast. I had blood tests done for various scenarios, nothing showed up. I am now getting a pain low down on my right hand side. I've been getting more constipated for the past few months now. The wind and nausea are worst first thing in the morning.
The gp has today changed my HRT from pill to patch, to see if things improve with the estradiol not being processed in my liver. Liver and cholesterol tests have come back fine.
I will see if things improve with the new HRT patches before I go back to my gp. She has signed me off work for another 2 weeks to rest, and hope that things settle down.
Keep us posted if anyone has a diagnosis, as there could be an underlying issue for some of us here.
s to you all!
