any 3 weekers how are you.

HI my names Hazel and I had a lavh/bso three weeks tomorrow. Just wondering how other sisters are doing who had op about same time. I'm not doing too bad, still can't have bm without laxatives. Im bloated most of the time, just wish my swelly belly would go somewhere else. Not having much pain apart from a bit of wind, only to be expected i suppose. I've finished moaning now, sorry but I needed to moan. Anyone feeling the same.
Hazel......

any 3 weekers how are you.

Hi,
my name is Ann, and I chose my logon ID to stand for 'Thank God Its Over'!
I had my surgery on June 23, so I'm about to hit my 3 week mark too.
I'm doing ok as far as my digestive system goes -- maybe it was my turn for something to go right, after puking my guts out for the first few days!
My biggest problem is that it really hurts to pee -- I get these really bad spasms.
I've got a certain amount of abdominal pain still lingering, but not enough to need medication.
My incision is still covered by the steri strips, but seems to be closing nicely.
And I still get exhausted at the slightest effort, such as taking a shower.
I'm finally up to sleeping for 3 hours at a stretch, before I have to wake up to try to get into a comfortable position.
But I could also describe it so it sounds much better: I'm eating, pooping, sleeping, and walking well.
Good luck to you in your recovery.

Have conquored the BM problem with extra bran and flax seed on my raisin bran every AM. Then walking 2 miles which helps me enormously in every way. However, I had TVH, it may be too soon for you

I'm three weeks today. Feeling pretty good. Doesn't hurt near as much to have a BM or pee. Steri Strips came off yesterday, as they were causing major itch problems. I am also getting more stamina, but driving seems to suck the life out of me. Unlike a lot of folks here, I am not allowed to do much of anything, even sponge mop my kitchen floor, as it would be too much strain. My cat is looking forward to the day he can jump on my lap again. Forcing myself to rest is the hardest thing. I always want to be on the move.

I am 3 weeks today also....today was a pretty good day. I was able to have a BM without the use of a supository
I have very little energy and my belly is pretty swelly, but my incision is healing up really nicely.
All I want to eat are sweet things, or nothing at all!
Not taking as much pain medication, trying to just take OTC stuff.
As far as sleeping goes, I fall asleep then wake up 2-3 hours later.....usually worrying.
The scary thing is that I have to go back to work (part time) in 1 week!
I don't know how I am going to do it, but I have to. I own my own business and my shop really needs my attention and my team needs a day off!

I am praying I can do it, but for now a trip to the grocery store with my DH wears me out!
We'll see...............

I am 3 weeks today... rested most of the day today after having to overdo it last nite pushing my mom in her wheelchair to see my dad who had emergency surgery yesterday....wont do that again....

Not taking any pain meds at all (well except one last nite after I pushed mom around)...
Sleeping on average of 10 to 12 hours a nite...
Driving seems to be doin fine...
No problems with my incision...
Still not sure about the BM thing.. I have about 5 small ones a day.. guess I am waiting on my innards to wake up...
The stent that was put in for the damaged ureter causes some discomfort but no real pain, be glad when it comes out ......

All in all I feel pretty good (last nite and its lingering effects through today dont count)...

Ces.

Hi there. I'm 3 weeks post-op today, too. Some days I feel great, other days (like today) I feel very tired. I cannot plan to do too much in one day. I'm still relying on stool softeners, and I've discovered that pizza needs to be a food of the future. So far I haven't had any wild mood swings (no ovaries left), but every few days I feel very blue or depressed. I'm still having crazy dreams at night, or when I nap in the daytime. Best wishes to all of you sweeties in your recovery journey! Love, Harp2

I was 3 weeks yesterday. Overall, I guess I am doing okay. I really thought I would be a little more active and not hurting and such by now. I have had some very minor problems (2 yeast infections and a uti) but my main complaints are being so-o-o-o tired and intermittant pain. I started bleeding again tonight, not just spotting and I don't think it is from dissolving stitches so I have another wonderful pad on again! I am being very careful to not overdo...I have a wonderful husband and family and friends jumping in to do anything and everything for me! I had both ovaries removed but so far (knock on wood!!) no hot flashes or night sweats or anything! DH has told others that I am overly-emotional but I don't see it and others have told me they don't see it. I think it is just because I am tired so much and am also tired of being tired, you know what I mean? I have looked forward to having this surgery done for so long and I am not sorry just a little frustrated that I am getting along so slowly for a TVH.
