LAVH, anterior/posterior repair

My LAVH went perfect no problems. I also had a bladder suspension and the ant/pos repairs. My Gyno is telling me no sex or strenuous activities for six months. Upon my visit yesterday I was advised I can only go swimming in MY pool. No ocean either. We will be going on a cruise in Sept which will be my three month mark and I can't go swimming? Has anyone ever heard of a six month recovery time?

Six months does sound like a long time--I have heard a lot of people say six weeks (maybe double check that you heard your dr correctly or that he meant months vs. weeks). I am glad your procedures went well and that you are home. My dr. said no bodies of water of any kind, including baths, pools, hot tubs, etc., but that is for weeks, rather than months. Hopefully as you recover and get closer to the cruise date, maybe the instructions will change to allow you a little more freedom.

I hope you are getting lots of rest and pampering!
