Delorme procedure

Has anyone had this procedure done for either a rectal prolapse or real low-lying rectocele? If so, any details on the procedure, is it a one-day surgery or a day or two in the hosptial, etc. would be appreciated.

Delorme procedure

Hi I haven't had this particular procedure - my repair was done vaginally and higher up - but found these links with info on the Delorme procedure:

In one of the links, they mention that one of the advantages of this procedure is that it can even be done in-office What did your DR say about the potential hospital stay?

Delorme procedure

Thanks for the links. I had seen one or two of them before. What's I've run into is that I now have a brand new, much lower rectocele than the one that was previously repaired. The surgeon mentioned the Delorme as a possible way to go, but I'm having more tests done (anal manometry & defecography) before he decides for sure. So we didn't go into any specific details. Although now that I think of it, I read medical records for a living (inpatient stays), and have never seen it done, I guess it probably is a same day surgery procedure.
Thanks again!
