Hey Curves Princesses, a question or two....

Dear Sisters,

I am looking for feedback from those who have had additional surgery in addition to their hysterectomy. I had a tvh with anterior and posterior repair. I am wondering at what point those of you who might have had similar surgeries started attending curves again. Did you use all the machines or avoid some and why? Did you experience any problems? Did you experience any injuries or require further procedures as a result of jumping in to fast? My doc has given me clear instructions on returning to my "running" but I want to add strength training now and have decided to do curves (actually, there isn't one close to me, doing a curves wanna be). Looking for enough information to make some decisions. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Tracy

Hey Curves Princesses, a question or two....

HI Tracy...I think you'll find a lot of information here in the Time for Curves forum. Many of us are Curves users. I didn't start to use Curves until a couple of years after my surgery, but I'm sure someone will be along soon to add their insight for you.
You might talk to a Curves location manager. See what they suggest as far as what to use and what to avoid.
And make sure your doctor knows you are considering doing Curves. The doctor might have some good ideas as to best go about using the various machines.
I love Curves!
Take care!

Hey Curves Princesses, a question or two....

Hi Tracey,
I started Curves at 3 months post op TAH/BSO,although I had been back at aqua aerobics at 7 weeks, your Dr would be the best to advise . I was told to avoid all heavy abdominal excercise until 3 months ( this was by a trainer who had a c-section) Take care early in recovery, there's alot more going on iside than we realise, Goodluck

Hey Curves Princesses, a question or two....

I am 5 mo. post op, and still don't do anthing that targets the abs, but do all the other machines at Curves. Everything else has been great. I seem to have been a slow healer, and still have quite a tender belly. My incision area still gets very achey and sore if I do too much. Other than that, I have not had any problems. I would discuss all questions with the dr. to be on the safe side.

Good luck and best wishes to you! Life is good!
