Back to the OR

Hi all. Where do I begin......... I had an LAVH in June 03 for endometriosis, they left my ovaries....... did fairly well. June 1 of this yr, I wound up in the ER with RLQ pain, thinking it was my appendix. The pain was so bad that it literally took my breath and would double me over. They did a CT scan, and found a cyst on my R ovary. According to the report it was "consistent with a functional cyst", even though it was between the size of a golf ball and baseball. MD decided to take the "wait and see approach". I went to see him yesterday, and he could still feel that my ovary was larger than normal. He did a sonogram, and it has not changed in 6 wks, and now my L ovary has a cyst on it larger than my R. I am still having pain just as bad as before. He called me this am to let me know of my surgery date. I have to go back Aug 12 for a laparoscope. He doesnt know if it is scar tissue, adhesions, or the endo back. He is more concerned with the fact that Im continuing to have pain, than he is with the size of the cyst or the fact that its still there.

I wish in a way that he would take both ovaries out. My mother and half sister both had breast cancer so he is leary about taking them due to HRT. I trust him completely, he has been my GYN for almost 16 yrs now and has always been great to me.

Any advice, recommendations, or just something to help me through this?
