I went ahead with new surgery yesterday!

Well I went ahead with my lap yesterday, and it was worth it, I found out what was causing all of my pain, #1 endo is back, # 2 it seems I have ovary regeneration syndrome. I have never heard of that, but the way things seem to go with me it doesn't surprise me.
I am still in a lot of pain, and having trouble sleeping, I am just trying to hang in there for a few more day's. Thanks for all of your thoughts.

Cortney... just wondering how things went for you yesterday. Keep in touch.

I went ahead with new surgery yesterday!

Mel -
I'm glad things went well for you! I hope your recovery is going ok! Mine was a little unusual...I'm having a hard time getting relief. My doctor said something to the effect that because I've been on so many different pain meds, I will not get as much relief from them as a "normal" person would. But today is going much better! Still sore, but not as nausaus as I was. Basically they just cleaned out my adhesions, and said that the adhesions had pulled my intestines in a wierd angle, and that was probably what was causing a majority of my pain. She also found endometriosis . I know she found a couple of small spots on one of my very first surgeries, but as far as I know, I haven't had any since then. And she said the endo was in unusual places. Of course she told DH this information, and he didn't happen to ask where it was. So I will have to wait until my follow up appt with her to find out. I'm a little confused as to how I can get endo - when I haven't really had a problem with it before??? When she did find it (the first time), it was before my hyst, and I guess I never really thought much about it.

Well anyway....I'm really glad everything went well for you. I'm sorry that you had to go through another lap - but hopefully you'll have some relief now!

Keep in touch! I'm heading back to my "nest"! (aka my bed with all my fluffy pillows and TV!)

Mel & Cortney-

I am SO happy that they were able to find your sources of pain...yahoo! Hopefully now you both will be on the road to full recovery and won't have to deal with the pain and not knowing.

I just scheduled my next surgery for 8/29, and I'm so hoping it goes as well as both of your did.

Get lots of rest and take care of yourselves!

rubystar... I am sure everything will work out for you too! I will be thinking of you. Please don't let me discourage you, I am just acting like a baby!

Thanks all!!!

ovarian remnant syndrome

Can someone tell me what ovarian remnant syndrome is?
My niece who is about 30 years old had an hyst because
of endo, and she has symptoms of cycles, could that be
related to this condition?

I went ahead with new surgery yesterday!

You have to realize that I got this info. from my DH who spoke to the doc after my lap...from what I understand after your hyst. sometimes there are cells from your ovary that are left behind, and begin to grow, thus your body begins to produce estrogen. I have yet to do any research on the subject but plan on it real soon.
Please understand I could be totally wrong. I am sure you will run across sisters who do know what exactly this is. Good luck to your niece!

I went ahead with new surgery yesterday!

I have had ORS and it's no fun!! More and more info is becoming available. When I had it...the only info was for dogs!!

Ovarian remnant syndrome occurs in patients who have had one or both ovaries surgically removed, but have small pieces of ovarian tissue left behind. These remnants of ovarian tissue, which can initially be microscopic, respond to hormonal stimulation, and can grow, become cystic, or hemorrhage producing pain. Ovarian remnants can reimplant anywhere in the abdominal cavity including the bowel and ureters.

Here's a few links that might help.

This is one of the best definitions...

Hope this helps some!!! Let me know if I can help more..
