11 weeks post op--other pains?!

Hi Hyster Sisters,
I am 11 weeks post-op. TAH on May 11th. I did very well and returned to work at 6 weeks. I was tired, etc.

Lately, I have had pain in my neck, shoulderblade, and base of my skull! ( no where near the incision!) I am also still tired!

Please advise--does anyone else feel this way??

Thanks so much!!

11 weeks post op--other pains?!

I am right behind you at 10 weeks post op. I have been having back, neck pain and hip pian since surgery. I think our bodies have gotten so out of wack from the positions they put you through during surgery. I'm planning on going to the chiropractor to try and take the pain away. I'm hoping that it will help my eyes focus better as well.
Have you been having any kind of extra stress at work? Stress can cause a lot of tension in your neck as well.
I know at night I like to take a shower to ease my muscles and sometimes I'm lucky to have hubby rub my back and neck.
Hope it gets better for you soon!

Being tired is very normal...your body has been through quite an ordeal and will not bounce back as quickly as you would like it to. I will be 5 mo. next week, and still get tired alot more than I used to. This is part of the healing process...your body's way of telling you to rest. You will still be healing for at least 6 mo. to a year, so don't forget to "be good to yourself"...even though we are cleared to resume normal activities, that does not mean you are healed 100%. Take it easy, and don't try to resume everything all at once. As for the other aches and pains, not really sure. They may be just from "after effects", fatigue, or it could be some other problem not related to your surgery.

Best wishes and hope you feel better soon! Take it one day at a time, and remember you are still a princess...don't rush your recovery!

11 weeks post op--other pains?!

My neck and shoulder hurt a LOT after the surgery. My back hurts off and on, I think from compensating for the stomach muscles and trying to get comfortable at night in bed.
I am having joint pain- pinkie finger, thumb, left wrist, knee! I am only 38 and feel like I am falling apart all of a sudden. I read somewhere that joint pain can be from an estrogen deficiency. I am/was estrogen dominant- so who knows! Maybe they haven't 'turned back on yet.'
It is all probably related somehow, and hopefully, time will heal. Does a heating pad on the shoulder/neck hurt. My mom made me a little flannel 'bag' with rice in it that I microwave to heat up. It's nice!

11 weeks post op--other pains?!

Hi Hyster Sisters )
I'm 14 weeks post-op and I thought I was the only one feeling like this. My neck, shoulders and upper back started hurting about 2 weeks ago. I thought it was because I spend so much time on the computer at work. Now I'm starting to wonder. It was giving me so much trouble that I was taking Advil every day. The pain finally eased up but I'm still very tired. By Friday I can barely make it to work. On the upside I do feel sooooo much better than before the surgery.
