Teachers unite!

Happy weekend to all! I know I am glad it has arrived.

Well, I am ready for my sub. I know who is taking my place and she complains about everything. So I have not left a thing for her to complain about. I wrote 10 weeks worth of plans, pulled all the math sheets and reading sheets. I set up everything on a weekly basis and I put homework together for the time I am off. I marked which poems to use during the week and what the kids journal pages should be about. But you know how it goes, she will find something to complain about. She is going to be in my room Tuesday to shadow me for the day.

I hope everyone is doing fine. Five more days until my surgery.

Hello to all! I feel so sad about our site. We seem to be losing touch of each other. I hope we can "regroup" and find the time to chat and support each other as we move along this continuum.
Sending lots of love to everyone.
Hang in there Christine....everything will work out.

Teachers unite!

Hello everyone,
Haven't posted this week - been soooh busy. We had parents' evening at school, a long meeting (far too long to be useful - I wish leaders would realise), and a concert. DD came home from uni for a couple of days to use books etc so took her back yesterday when school was over. That all took care of any 'free' time this week!

Thank goodness it's the weekend. Hope you're all managing to get some time to yourselves. I really want to do some sewing and reading - but have brought work home as usual. Think I'm putting it to one side until at least I've done some shopping and visited Mum. DS coming home so need to stock up on things he likes.
It has turned wet and windy here - autums colours are lovely - but right now everywhere looks grey. Hoping for a window of fine weather when this spell is over.

Cathy hope things are going ok for you in 'supervising' your family. You're right over the site - I too was feeling a little sad about it. I'd been so busy but then found everyone else seemed to be in the same boat. Perhaps it's a sign that we're medically moving on in the hyst picture - but it's been so good to have the contact for so much more than that. I really do value you all - you've been my dearest confidantes and I do hope we can keep this going.

Sarah it sounds as if at least there's some progress for you in investigating. Hang in there.

Christine it's not long now. The waiting time for anything like this isn't pleasant - at least when you're busy you don't have too long to dwell on it. You'll be in our thoughts an prayers this week.

Off to do that shopping now. I'll look back later in the weekend.
Love to all.
Mary.

Well Friday evening's here again and am I glad! We have parents' evenings this term - one each week - plus meetings for heads of departments. Last night we also had an inter-house concert, which was most enjoyable - but another busy evening.

Do hope everyone is keeping well. No doubt you're all busy.

Love to all.

Hi, sisters,

Saturday and Sunday are good days for planting, pruning to encourage growth, apply organic fertilizer.

Today was a good day to become a national board certified teacher. I just checked my score. I made it!

Christine, I've been thinking about you. It may be a few days before we hear from you, but you know you're on our healing prayer list.

Mary, you sound really glad for the weekend. I know you're busy when you say that!

Cathy, it's true we're not posting much. Healing and shifting our energy back to the old routines. Like Mary I have come to think of this group as more than support for health concerns. I'm not going anywhere... I renewed my membership for two years back in July. So, how cold is it getting down there? We're in the 40's at night, 65 during the day.

I have to say to you, though, aren't hot flashes entertaining? I'm having them again!

Hope to hear from everyone soon. Maybe we'll have more time to write in over the holidays.

Love,
Sarah

Hi again,
Just popped in to read the news.
Congratulations Sarah - the well deserved reward for all that hard work.

You asked Cathy about weather - I'm so envious of those warmer climates. I'd settle for 65 and 40 - over here we're in a cold spell and it's a little above freezing during the day and well below at night. Brrrr... the car is soooh cold early in the morning when we leave for school. DH has all the tender plants in the greenhouse and the heating bill is definitely now at winter levels.

How are things at home Cathy? Guess you'll be glad there's a holiday this week.

Hope you all have a wonderful thanksgiving - will be thinking of you.
Love to everyone.
Mary.

Congratulations Sarah!

Thanks for all the positive thoughts. I came home Saturday the 19th. The doctor said it was a mess inside the knee and had to be done. I've been a good girl and only called the school once to give them an update. I have a very long road ahead of me.

Take care and have a good week all.
