Stretch leggings

All I'm wearing are stretch leggings. No zipper, no tension, just stretch, stretch, stretch. With a nice big sweater you could possibly make them work in a casual workplace. And you won't look "well", which is a good thing.

I buy the ones from Target that occasionally go on sale for $7 - $10. No matter what they say, don't put them in the dryer. The lycra pops out of the seams and looks like little white hairs. For the same reason, buy the lighter or heather-colored ones.

Hope this helps!

What to wear

I wear t-shirt dresses, unitards, caftans, and bib overalls. I was close to the 7 week mark before even large undies ere comfortable around my waist. It's snowing here today and I am SOME SORE. No panties today!

I live in Old Navy drawstring flannels at home. When I have to go out, I have a comfy pair of denin overalls(no waist) that I put on. I tried a pair of loose Khakis with a zipper a few days ago (I'm 4 weeks PO today) and I coudn't wait to get out of them. I guess I'll have to get used to real clothes eventually!

I think I was at 9 wks before I retired my post-op uniform for good. I had been wearing 2 pairs of 10.00 stretch pants that I washed in the sink every nite. I'm at 11 wks now and comfortable enough in my jeans.

Good luck.

I found that my normal leggings were too tight (waistband) but I got a pair of loose ones from WalMart and they have been great. (and they have pockets)
I have worn my dockers alot. They are not as bad as jeans. Today I have a long skirt on, it does have elastic at the waist, but it isn't too tight.

I do have some swelling, been at the office for a little while, but it is difficult to find clothes to go to work in...people don't understand I can't handle the pantyhose and the suits

Good luck on find that perfect thing to wear!!!

Wish I could send you ladies some of my flowers that have just bloomed, it is a beautiful spring day, tomorrow it will probably snow (that is the nature of the weather here)

Panythose! Boo!

I have no intention of going back to pantyhose when the time comes. I'll waistless knit dresses under suit jackets and my beloved thigh-highs. They're a lot better than they used to be even ten years ago; the Haynes Silk Reflections really stay up.

Arctic suggested it to, but I would like to emphasize that bib overalls have been such a lifesaver for me. I got two pairs, made of regular twill instead of denim, at Target before my surgery and I have been practically living in them ever since. I'm starting to be able to wear my normal pants again but I still wear my overalls (to work even, but I have a pretty casual job) a couple of days a week at least.

I even embroidered designs on them while I was recovering to make them more fun.

I believe that Bib-overalls should be on the list of crowned princess' attire. I didn't get mine until a month ago. I used to wear them all the time when I was in my 20's.
Maybe we should ask Kathy to get some with the Logo on them to sell in the store! I just got my pampered princess T today. I just love it.

Moral of my story...Loose, Loose, loose. No sense putting yourself through more than you have to. Be comfortable!

Im at 71/2 weeks and am just now geting comfortable in my jeans. Ive had a real good recovery. It seems like it took the whole six weeks before I felt good again though, Im just glad it's a bad memory now, not that I regret it... I just didn't think the post op would be that bad. I wore draw string pants and big dresses that worked for me I wish you a speedy recovery and a good day Bernadette Murray
