Less Than a Woman?

I am always discovering new things on this wonderful web site. While checking out the post-op checklists, I found this quote under the 5-6 week checklist:

  Quote:
"Know that our body parts do not define us as real women. We are female in our brains and hearts much more than in our bellies. We are compassionate, loving, and willing to give of ourselves more than any of God’s creation. All women become infertile eventually - Hystersisters become so because they need surgery in order to be healthier."
Whoever wrote this is brilliant. More is written on this topic, so I encourage every woman who is grieving or feeling less than a woman visit the checklist for more inspiring thoughts.

Thanks for reposting that.

I hadn't thought of it like that. We were just talking about this at work Friday. Almost all the women I work with have had a hysterectomy and one of them called herself an "it". I know she was joking but really she meant it too. I will have to mention that to her tomarrow.

Less Than a Woman?

Absolutely!
I pray for someone here at HS who said the other day that she doesn't feel like a woman anymore. I never once thought that I would feel less than a woman after this surgery. Does my huband feel (or act) less of a man because he had a vasectomy 5 years ago? Heavens no!
Some women have a uterus their whole lives, yet are infertile. It doesn't mean they aren't wonderful, amazing, loving WOMEN!!
