finding my perspective

Many thanks to all the sisters who answered with prayers of support during my bad week last week. I seem to be in a better frame of mind today.

Friday night after a very stressfull week my DH brought me lots of chocolate and I ate it. All of it. Something I have not done since my surgery. I have eaten very little sugar and less chocolate.

Saturday morning I woke up with the first migraine I have had since my surgery. Any connection? I used to get them during my period every month for about 3 days. I seem to be over it today.

On a positive note, even with the migraine I had to go to a reception yesterday. 3 or 4 of the women there, all about my age, had started their period that day or the night before. Could not help feeling smug, migraine and all.

Again thanks to all the sisters who read my rant and rallied round with spiritual help and prayers. I really needed them.

migraines and chocolate

Chocolate can be a migraine trigger. My husband can eat a small quantity of peanut butter with no ill effects, but a large quantity gives him a three-day headache. Food triggers for migraine can be tricky because they don't get you every time. Sometimes you can eat them and be fine.

On the other hand, several sisters have reported migraines post-hyst while their hormones settle down. There's probably more on this in the hormone jungle. Good luck with your recovery!

I used to have killer migraines but haven't had any since the hyst. I still have my ovaries. Your body might be reacting to losing your ovaries. You might want to surf the hormone jungle forum., like happyhyster said--your hormones are probably jumping around!

Next time you go see your doctor, ask him/her about it.

I wish chocolate was a trigger for me, then I wouldn't eat so much of it
