5-1/2 weeks, pelvic pressure

I'm 5-1/2 weeks post-op for TVH with rectocele and bladder repair. (Had 3rd degree prolapse). Doing well in every way except for weird pelvic pressure and a heavy feeling down there - I had a "heavy, droping out" feeling for years before surgery - this is slightly different, but still annoying and makes me wonder if something is still wrong. Doctor prescribed anti-inflammatories two weeks ago but they've only helped slightly. Last week, got back on antibiotics for a second bout of bacterial vaginosis - could this be affecting things? Is this normal? Just want to feel light down there for once!

Sorry you are still having some problems. I would think as long as you have something going on down there that you will most probably still feel pressure or discomfort. You had a lot done in your surgery and it does take over 5 weeks to heal in there. Another thing to think about is, if you are on your feet too much you will feel pressure. It is a good idea to lounge and put your feet up in the day as much as possible. I felt pressure if I was up and doing too much. The body does let us know by discomfort or pain.

If you have any questions about this pressure be sure to run this by your dr.

Hopefully once you are finished up with your antibiotic and you have had some more rest and time healing, that you will be feeling better than you are now.

5-1/2 weeks, pelvic pressure

I go in this coming Tuesday for my 6-week checkup and will certainly address it then. Happy to report that it's not been quite as bad the past two days, but I know I need to take it easy still. I've been doing more the past week with my son at home (his day camp ended last week and school won't start until Aug. 25). Additionally, I'm a single parent and have to ask friends for help. I think I've been in this mode of not wanting to ask for help and that has just complicated everything!
