Earliest appointment really meant earliest appointment
I was here last week asking how long it would take to get an appt, once the scheduling process began.
I just got the call!
September 19!
I am on vacation out west from Sept 2 - 12...come home, work one day, go for pre-op appt on the 14th, then the following Monday, I am heading to the palace.
Amazing.
I'm a bit wowed, excited and anxious...but you know, sooner will be better than later!
~Karen...46 and fibroid filled, but not for much longer!

Earliest appointment really meant earliest appointment
HI,
This is the way to go. I will be a TAH on 9/12/05 due to multiple fibroids also but scheduled this date back in early June. I have my own business and needed to be here during the summer months. It has been so much time to think about it that now Im absolutely going crazy. Ladies here talk about tunnel vision and boy do I have it. I think everyone has the same emotions it just better if you can get it all over with quicker. Good luck to you on your big H. Hugs Anita

Earliest appointment really meant earliest appointment
In my opinion, this is the BEST way to do it!
Once you are sure with your decision and have researched and removed any doubts, this is the ideal!
The less days on the calendar you have to cross off and the less amount of days you have to dwell on what's ahead, the BETTER! Sometimes people think things are going too fast and that you might be doing things too impulsively.
But I firmly believe if this is something you and your doc have firmly and comfortably decided on....bring it on QUICK!
Best wishes! See you on the post op side!

Thank you both!
It just surprised me it went so quick.
I have no qualms about getting this taken care of sooner. Its a huge yahooo moment for me...and better yet, after an awesome vacation!
Some fun in the sun and the mountains, and then home to get myself fixed up.
I was thinking today...who will I will my feminine supplies to? That was really my last period, wasn't it??? No more cramps and bleeding down my legs. No, not a bad thing at all, and actually, once I knew this was going to be what had to happened, I was wishing it could come sooner than later, and my wish came true.
I'll be coming home from vacation and pouring over this site for things to make sure I have, things to take with me, things to remember...lots of THINGS.
Again, surprised, but I think an awesome surprise.

Congratulations on getting your surgery date so soon. When I decided on my hysterectomy, I had a three-month window (more for my schedule than anything else) and in a way it was just way too long to worry and fuss over the whole situation.
 to you and best wishes.

I think I'm going to wrap my "pink box" up for Christmas and give it to my DIL.
She is due on 1/19th and will be needing them again.

Lynda,
You ornery thing. I love it! My coworker told me today that she [who is having big bleeding issues as well] is so jealous. I think those big pads and tampons will be heading her way!

Mine is at Mercy Memorial here in Monroe ..
I wonder if anyone will have there surgeries cancelled due to doctors and nurses heading down to the states hit with the Katrina. Just seen a story on WDIV that said they are sending personnel from 34 different hospitals in the Monroe, Wayne, Washtenaw, and Livingston Counties.
Will keep prayers going for those in the states affected and fingers crossed for the princesses in waiting.
