Update!

I got the report from the doctor today from the ultrasound. My remaining ovary is the size of a golf ball and has 2 cysts on it. Of course an ultrasound doesn't show endo. but my dr. is sure it's there. She wanted to me start taking Depo Provera shots and I told her I didn't think it was for me. So we are schedulling surgery. First I have to go to see my hematologist on Oct. 3rd. Then my OB/GYN will schedule the surgery. She can't do it laproscopicly because I've had 3 previous belly button surgeries and there is lots of scar tissue plus she thinks that she's going to be getting into something else when she does open me up. So the ovary is coming out and more endo will be lasered off. Cross your fingers for me gals....I'm a nervous wreck! Thanks!

Hi Leolioness,
Eileen here - I am going for an u-sound tomorrow for what my MD suspects may be ovarian remnant syndrome.

How are you doing?

5 yrs post op...pain is back!!

I have heard many of you talk about ovarian remnant syndrome, just curious as to what your pain felt like? And if you can get this even if both ovaries were removed at time of hysterectomy. I am 2 years post op and am on very low dose estrogen, only 2 times per week, could this be enough to activate any residual endo? Any insight would be great. Sending good wishes and prayers to anyone still in pain.
Hugs, lucylin

5 yrs post op...pain is back!!

Hey there gals,

I am the one who had the ORS surgery last week!
My pain was on my lower right side where my ovary used to be, I had both removed during my hyster., The pain would come and go, it was sharp shooting pains! That is the best I can describe it. I did have a lap before my surgery that was the only way I was diagnosed. I also had adhesions that reared it's ugly head during this last surgery also. To answer the endo question, YES! endo can return, it did for me!! Go figure???

Both of you, feel free to contact me at anytime! I am more than happy to help!

Take care ladies!!!

My Dear ~
Sorry to hear you have the miseries. I encourage you to bite the bullet and proceed with removing your ovary. I fought endo for 33 years (onset at age 16) and it is wicked . I had scar tissue removed twice, but it took a complete hysterectomy to give me the relief. Courage my dear! Sibbie
