When can I take a bath?!?!

I had a TAH/BSO on August 19th so it's been almost 3 weeks and I can't wait until I can take a bath!! I understand the reason for no baths at first so you don't soak the incision but how long after surgery did you have to wait before you could safely take a bath? I have an appointment with the doc next week and it's on my list of questions but I was just wondering if anyone knew....

When can I take a bath?!?!

You'll need to ask your DR for this one... mine told me that the "nothing in the vagina for six weeks" rule applied to water - ie no baths, swimming or hot tubbing until I was cleared, due to the danger of infection from microbes in the water.

When can I take a bath?!?!

Mine told me no bath until I came for four week follow up and then he would tell me. Today is the 4 week visit. I want a bath!! He says the reason being when you take a bath water can go inside the vagina, and stay behind the cuff causing an infection. I loves baths. I go at 11 so I will keep everyone posted.

When can I take a bath?!?!

Hopefully you will be cleared soon. My doc told me I could sit in our own hot tub at 2 weeks post op, and swim in the Y pool at 4 weeks. I didn't take baths though-I had a HUGE incision and getting up and down in the tub would have taken a fork lift that first month. Good luck!

When can I take a bath?!?!

You'll have to ask your doctor on this one but I was cleared to take a bath at 2 weeks post op. Even at 2 weeks there is no way I could have got in and out of the tub. Had my first bath at about 3 weeks. I had a TAH July 12th.

When can I take a bath?!?!

Ask your dr. but I had a back ach and lay in the water on the 5th night . I didn't stay to long just to relive my back. I didn't have any problem getting out of the tub. good luck

When can I take a bath?!?!

My Dr. cleared me at 2 weeks for baths. But I waited till I was 4weeks post op. I wanted to be a little stronger getting in and out of my tub.

When can I take a bath?!?!

I had a TAH and my doc said no tub baths until 6 weeks post-op. I would ask the doc though.
