Seeing a Gyn/Onc Monday the 12th

That was quick. I am not comfortable with the Univ. of WI Cancer Center at all (more than Cyndy's death there) but my oncologist was firm a gyn/onc would have to look at this to determine if it is operable and weigh outcome against risks. A gyn/onc makes great sense to me. However, I can't help but think why I was never referred in 2001 when it was most urgent and I didn't know about them. Those who know the UW it is Dr. Kushner.

It is great they can get you in so fast. It is frustrating knowing now that you should have seen a gyn/onc 5 years ago. At least this time you are getting one.

If you don't go to UW, where would you go? Any others in your city or would you have to go further to see one? I understand the place holds bad memories for you, but you need this doctor, so even though you don't want to go there, you have to go.

I have met Dr Kushner. You will like him. He is very kind but competent. You are in good hands with him.
Do you want me to take off work and go with you?

I'm glad you are seeing a gyn/onc at last and hope he will be someone you will like and trust. I wish you the very best on the 12th and will be thinking of you. I'll be getting a CA125 that day and also a visit with my med/onc.

I will be thinking about. I like Dr. Kushner. He doen't have the greatest bedside manner. He is more of a tell you like it is sort of doctor. He explained everything before my surgery to the smallest detail. He didn't sugar coat anything with me. He was also very caring about my well being. My local doctor is very impressed with him. Just my 2 cents. Judy

I've been out of touch for a little while, Ellen, so I am in the dark here. I don't know what's been going on with you. Nevertheless, please know that my thoughts and prayers will be with you on Monday.
