Here's a quote from the Motrin.ca site:

"For all MOTRIN* products, if you have a fever that does not improve after 3 days or if pain is not reduced after taking MOTRIN* IB for 5 consecutive days, please consult your doctor or your dentist before considering taking MOTRIN* IB for longer."

Motrin is an ibuprofen which, in large doses, is toxin to the kidneys. Tylenol, on the other hand, in large doses, is toxic to the liver. That's why, if you have a child, the Ped will tell you that you can alternate giving your child both if their fever is not under control. That way it isn't concentrated in one organ or the other.

if I were you, I'd check with my Dr about how often you're needing the pain meds, not just how often you're taking them.

Hope this helps!

PS -- I, too, had the same condition (as well as a prolapsed uterus) and I had them all repaired at once. How was your cystocele and rectocele repaired?

I would call your doctor, let him/her know that you are needing the motrin on a daily basis and get his/her opinion. I know that some doctors will say to take motrin after surgery, but I am not sure how long of a timeframe. Please call your doc.

is taking motrin everyday safe??

My dr has me on Advil every 4 hours or so...I've been taking it everyday for many many months now and dr thinks it is fine. I haven't had any problems or side effects...even had tests not too long ago to make sure my kidneys & liver were ok...everythings just fine!

Just me & my dr opinion

is taking motrin everyday safe??

Hi:

I can take motrin for a short period, after a while it bothers my stomach big time...Also it can cause your stomach to bleed if you take to much....My gyno wanted me to take it every 4 hours for a month, my Gasto Doctor said "NO" that is way to much for the stomach...

Try and eat before you take it to lessen the effects on the stomach.
