Did you take a bath right away?

When did your doctor ok you to take a tub bath? What type of H did you have? Did you take one right when he gave you the go ahead?

Doc told me today I could take tub bath---but I am afraid.

Did you take a bath right away?

I love baths----my family all make fun of me because I am always in the tub. I feel a bath will make anything better. I talk on the phone in the tub, read in the tub---relax whatever.

But I am worried I will get water caught in my vagina and cause an infection in the cuff. My tub is clean but I was thinking of cleaning it once more right before I get in with more clorox.

Have I lost my mind completely?

Did you take a bath right away?

Hi There!

My post-op instruction sheet didn't say anything about a particular type of bathing being forbidden...so I took a shower or bath whenever I felt like it. In my case, it was a non-issue. It's been a couple of years since my hyst, but as recall showers were more comfortable for me at first, because I was so stiff and achey that the prospect of climbing in and out of a bathtub was not that appealing to me. IMHO, if your doctor okayed you for it, and it appeals to you...I say go for it!

Happy bathing to you!

Did you take a bath right away?

You are not silly, Its scary! My doc wouldnt allow a bath until after the 6 week checkup, he said to wait 2 more weeks, I did, and the day that I was allowed to get in the tub, I did, and it was the most glorious bath i can remember.
Take your time, when you are ready, you will know, and then slide in and soak.....
Happy bathing.

Did you take a bath right away?

I so want a bath too! I cant wait until my gyno clears me for it. I am 6 weeks post op, but healing SO slowly, he wants me to wait until after my next checkup which is 2 weeks away, and even then he thinks his answer will be "no". He is worried that right now since I am healing so slowly he is going to have to take me back in a restitch things if it doesnt speed up soon, since the stitches should start dissolving anytime and my body is nowhere near healed enough for them to dissolve.

But as soon as he says go I am IN! So if your doc has cleared you for it, go ahead and enjoy. Mine just told me to avoid bubble baths after I am cleared because of my yeast problem.

I cant take showers (groshong central line in chest that cant get wet) so a bath is my only option. Right now just doing sink baths (cleaning up with a washcloth). I can't WAIT to have a real one again!

Enjoy!

Did you take a bath right away?

After my TAH the doctor told me I could have a bath at 2 weeks post op but also told me not to use bubbles or oils. The main concern was getting in and out of the tub. He was concerned that I would pull something trying to get out of the tub. I finally got up the courage at just over 2 weeks post op and it was wonderful!! I made sure it wasn't too warm and I had DH with me to help me in and out. Happy bathing!! Enjoy!!!!!!!!

If your dr gives you the OK, I say go for it!

I am a shower person, myself. I would have had a very hard time getting up and down in the tub. I am single, so I would have had to manage on my own. I have a shower head that can be removed and used all over my body....I love it!

Good luck, and enjoy!
