Getting Closer

Hello everyone. I just got a call from the hospital today to do all of my pre op questions. It is so strange to hear everyone else go in for their pre op but here in Canada they just call us and ask questions and then I go in next week for all of my blood work. I will be having a TVH with ovaries left in. She said that I will have a catheter in for about 2 days does that sound normal? Also that I will be in the hospital for about 3 days. Well I think that I am going through about every emotion that I can think of right now. Also Aunt Flo decided to show up early so that is not helping right now either. Well that is all just needed to get some things off of my chest. This site is wonderful and I do not think that I could have gotten through this without this site.

everything you are feeling right now is completely normal! the hardest part is the waiting i am sure you will do fine and we will be waiting for you on the post op board when you get home so do something nice for yourself before your big day, it helps with the nerves. and recovery is not so bad. it will be over before you know it!!!!!

thank you so much for your response. That is a great idea to do something nice for myself I never even thought of that. I am also glad to hear that I am normal and not alone in this. Thank you again.

Getting those pre-op questions over with must be a big relief for you.

I found that keeping busy was a great way to keep my mind occupied before surgery. And like the other (((sister))) suggested, doing something "just for you" is a great idea! I also watched the funniest TV I could find, figuring that it would be a while after surgery before laughing would be pain-free! (And it was a while..... )

As for Aunt Flo -- think of it this way: this is her last visit. to you!
