I had a tvh on 5/02-seems so long ago-I am feeling pretty good. Still get a little tired occasionally-but overall feeling pretty good. My concern is my bladder. I didn't have any repairs done at the time of my surgery-but now it seems that I have to go to the bathroom every two hours. I do not have to go during the night-most nights-and have had no incontinence problems. But boy, I make it a point to know where a bathroom is at all times. I have no burning or other symptoms of an infection and have been tested a few times shortly after surgery -but no infection then either. Any thought on this??

Bumping you up. I haven't had this problem post-op myself, but I'm sure someone else will have some info for you.

Hi gerise,
I'm sorry, I don't know what this is either, but I think you should see your dr and have it checked out. I think frequent urination can be a beginning symptom of diabetes. I'm no dr and there are probably a lot of things that could cause this, but only your dr can tell you for sure.
Let us know if you figure out what it is.

's, Rita

The uterus and cervix helps to support the bladder and keep it in place. Since you had a total hysterectomy it could be that your bladder no longer has the support it once had. Or maybe your bladder has to get use to its new position. At any rate don’t panic I’m sure everything will be fine.

Check on the Bladder Matters Message board. I’m sure someone has experienced the same thing you are going through. Hope I have been of some help to you. Hang in there.

My Dr actually encourged me to go every 2 hours. I was having pain if I let my bladder even come close to getting full. So he told me to go every 2 hours, if I felt like it or not. He said that the bladder gets moved during a TAH so it needs to heal/rest also.

You might just be suffering from overactive bladder (OAB). There are medications that help with this problem.
The only way youre going to know for sure whats going on is to seek out the expertise of a Dr, either your GP or a urologist.

stay well
