Day 10 Vaginal Stabbing Pain?
I had a TAH/LSO on 9/6. A little discharge and bleeding today. I have read the bleeding around this time is normal due to the stitches disolving but ice pick pain in the vaginal area? I didn't have much done in there except I think the doc said he graphed a little skin in there to use to close my cervix, otherwise everything was done abdominally.
My question is did anyone experience a stabbing nerve feeling in the vaginal area around this time? Normal? It goes off every few seconds for a couple hours now. Trying to sit on a heating pad to see if it helps at all. Doesn't seem like a bladder or urinary infection because there is no pain peeing. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks! Louise

Day 10 Vaginal Stabbing Pain?
Hi Louise, I had both anterior and posterior vaginal floor repair, so I am not sure if this will help you, but my answer to your question is YES< YES< YES, everyday, over and over and over. Still going strong right now as I type this. I do know you can also have "referred" pain, this is when you feel pain in one place but it is actually coming from another.
I would say if it seems very bad, or just doesn't seem to ease up, especially given you didn't really have vaginal work done, you should call your doctor and ask them what to do to relieve it and if it is anything to be concerned about.
I'm sorry you are in pain and wish you the best!

Day 10 Vaginal Stabbing Pain?
Thanks, if I'm still feeling it (I hope not) on Monday I will. Naturally I thought it would go away but didn't and now the office is closed for the weekend, which is why I posted. This is kinda painful and really annoying more than anything.

Day 10 Vaginal Stabbing Pain?
Hello, I had a SAH on 8/3/05 and can relate to your pain. I had the pain prior to the surgery and after. It felt like a knife was being jabbed up my vagina off and on. I just posted today because the pain in not knife like but more like I just gave birth. It won't let up. I too have a abdominal incision. If my pain does not let up I will call the doc on Monday. The ladies that have responded to my question say it could be an infection. The pain feels like I had sex for a week straight. lol I hope you find the answers your looking for so you can feel better soon!

Day 10 Vaginal Stabbing Pain?
Hi Weeze! I'm pretty sure this is nerve pain. I am having the opposite problem, vaginal hyst but stabbing sharp pains up in the abdomen. The very strange thing is that it goes to the spot where my ovary and tube were removed 10 years ago. It's the same sharp zinger pain that I had back then. It went on and off just today. Must be just referred pain.
Of course, call the Dr if you pain still persists on Monday. Take care!
