What worked for me.

Hello Beautiful Ladies,

I have used this site several times to answer my questions and I have apprectiated everyone's sharing during this transitional (sometimes difficult)time. I had a supra-cervical abdominal hysterectomy on 2/23/01.

I wanted to return the favor by telling you what worked for me.

1. Accupuncture!!!!
Accupuncture helped me soooo much with the pain. After my first treatment (1 week post-op) I was able to sleep through the night and the pain went down considerably. I went for three treaments and felt better after each time.

2. Walking
Walking helped me out a lot. I found that after walking my body felt better.

3. Lots of Water and Juice with a Multi-Vitamin
I developed Restless Leg Syndrome on my fourth week which was due to coming off Vicodin, and a iron deficency. I had to make sure that I took my Multi-Vitamin every day and increased my intake of juice and legumes which helped considerably. After only three days the RLS went away.

4. Bed Exercises
There was a post here about exercises to do while you are in bed. It included Keigels(sp?) and I did those as much as I could. There were other exercises but I am sure I will not do them justice if I try to type the directions from memory. The exercises do help with your bladder though The exercises are listed in a post here.

I also recognized that the crying was part of my body adjusting to my NEW hormonal level. I am happy to say that I think I have finally adjusted.
