Recovery - Unrealistic expectations?

I'm now well past the 3 month mark from my TVH with posterior repair. All in all, recovery has been pretty good, except.... it's been a LOT longer than I expected.

Am I the only one who went into this whole adventure with unrealistic expectations? Is it because I ended with a TVH instead of a TAH/BSO?

I headed for the castle, thinking that I would be in a LOT of pain from the TAH. The initial pain was almost nil

However, even though I read the pre-op board forever and was forewarned that recovery takes up to a year, I expected to be a lot better than I am right now. Now, don't get me wrong: I'm not bedridden, I'm just still having the odd pangs, often pains in my lower abdominals. I'm not up to my long walks yet. I feel much better than I did when I was bleeding all the time, I just don't feel as good as I expected to be feeling

Recovery - Unrealistic expectations?

You are not alone, I am there, too. Also, three months, I felt great right after, and for about a month--now I have lower energy than prior to hyst, I really do tire more easily...and cannot sleep for more than 6 hours.
I feel like I have gotten old...
