Results of CT scan!

Hi Ladies,
Well this is not at all what I expected! My Doctor called today, and said she just wanted to talk to me about my latest Anesthesia reaction. So I was telling her all about it, well, at least what I remembered, and how confused about everything I was. And how they told me absolitly under no more elective surgery until this whole Anesthesia issue is figured out!
So then she says, Well, we have a problem! You have pretty significant gall stones, and the Gall bladder wall is inflamed, which means that this can become an emergancy situation at any moment! GREAT!!! She said I need to send you to UAB in Alabama ASAP and have this extensive testing done and figure out this Anesthesia problem so you can have this gall bladder removed! NOT WHAT I WANTED TO HEAR!! Her words were if this becomes an emergancy situation...WERE SCREWED!! ALRIGHTY THEN!!
Ok....Now Im scared!! She's haveing the Nurses set it up with UAB, and will call me. Well given thats it's friday, I'm sure I won't here anything until at least Monday! I have to say I at least recieve my medic alert bracelet today!! Good Thing I guess!! So thats the not so great news! I don't even know what to think or say! HELP!!...Netty

Thanks so much! You know I'm just sitting here trying to find anything possitive out of this situation, and I did manage to come up with something.....If I hadnt had this last "Minor" surgery, and had to have this gall bladder out in an emergancy situation....It could have been a total disaster!! So I supose I can look at this second anesthesia reaction as a Blessing"?? Given the fact that they...through this last reaction found out I'm also allergic to Narcotics, Not just the Anesthestic inhailents!!
There you go...everything happens for a reason...right?....Netty

Hi Netty
I sure hope they figure this out for you. I know this is the last thing you wanted to hear.I do feel things happen for a reason. If my back wouldn't have gone out during this last surgery I still would have no explanation for these bowel and some of my bladder issues.
I was very sick for weeks following my TAH. We had no idea what was causing it.I went to see a abdominal pain specialist .I had a lapro for suspected adhesions. He did the lapro and found no adhesions causing the pain. He looked at my GB and it was so inflamed and covered in adhesions. He went out to my DH in the waiting room to sign a consent for him to remove it right then.It was an emergency, like yours. He later told me even if my DH wouldn't have signed he would have removed it anyway, because of what could have happened to me soon. I chalked this up as another things happen for a reason situation.
I hope you hear from the hospital soon and they can figure out the reason for your reaction. The GB surgery is not bad at all. Even with my GB being very inflamed he was able to remove it by lapro. The recovery is a peice of cake compared to the hyst and other surgeries I have had recently.
Keep us posted on this. I do wish you tons of Luck!
I am sending you a big hug!( I don't know how to do the icons since they changed the site)

Results of CT scan!

Morning Peggy,
Thanks for the hugs! This is all too crazy girl! I went online last night looking for signs and symptoms fo gallstones, well boys do THIS REALLY explain some things!!!
In a gallbladder attack, you can have pain in your right shoulder! Well when I had my first reaction tto anesthesia, and I was in ICU paralysed..My right shoulder was killing me!! And I knew I hadnt done anything to my shoulder, and all the pains I've been haveing between my shoulderblades!! And I've had several nights, within the last, 6 months where I was haveing what I thought was sever, heartburn to the point of sweating, and I would get out of bed and get on my knees (pray too), and lay my head and shoulders over the ege of my be and just rock, and rock!! It reminded me of the sever heartburn I would get when I had that H. Pylori bacteria..but THAT had been taken care of, ohabout 10 years ago!! I've had pain under my ribs..but I chalked it up to the fact I smoke. (YES ,I know ,I know!!) So the symptoms arent the same for everyone and thats why I never ever thought it was gallbladder!! The "ENIGMA" emerges AGAIN!!! I just want this to all be over know what I mean!! I don't want an emergancy situation, when mistakes can be made, So I guess I can only TRY to have all my Ducks in a row....and hope for the best!!....Netty

I had the same symptoms as you. My GB illness had been going on a long time too. I had really lost my appetite and got to the point where I could hardly eat. I had lost 23 pounds before my hyst and another 50 after my hyst. before I was finally diagnosed with GB disease. Everybody kept asking me why I was losing weight? I had no idea. Having GB disease while having severe anemia(5.5 hema level was 19) from my bleeding out was really bad timing. Maybe that is what caused my terrible reaction to the blood transfusion 1 week before my hyst.
A few minutes after I started receiving blood I turned beat red, chest pains, abdominal pains, back and shoulder pains, leg pains.I was rushed by ambulance 200 feet away to the ER. My BP had almost bottomed out. They ran test after test and cross matched the blood again and could find nothing wrong. Too bad they didn't check my GB. Who would have known?
Maybe your GB did cause your reaction. I am convinced now it caused mine.
eat non fat foods. I did a week before my surgery and it sure did help.
take it easy this weekend

Hi Peggy,
Have a question. I know you have a very physical job as to I, and I on a daily basis lift repetively, 30 to 50 lbs over my head. I do alot of pulling with my arms and reaching over my head. I also work out side in the weather. How long did you take off from work for the healing process?
Also heres a BIG question....Did you have General Anesthesia....or can you have a epidural Anesthesia for gall bladder removel??? That is a HUGE factor!! Thanks....Netty
