Happy, Happy Day!!! The Foley is OUT!

I want to thank all of you who were there for me as I struggled with that foley for a week. I am a person who feels you learn from every experience, and what I learned from that one is...I NEVER WANT ONE OF THOSE SUCKERS AGAIN. No, truly I learned that and that, sometimes what we hope will happen doesn't turn out just that way.

My surgery was a breeze, hysterectomy recuperation going well 8 days post...but that bladder trouble. OUCH.

Spasmo, PityPat57, MDHCRN, Texastea, Nightwing and JMW...high fives and happy dances all around. [If I forgot anyone, I am so very sorry] You all were the very best of the best. I love you each and everyone. You gave of time and self, and gave hope and encouragment. Love and prayer.

I went in today, my foley had been bleeding for two days and I had had two total days of spasm. I was one miserable girl. They emptied it, put 325 ccs of sterile water in, sent me in to the toilet. I prayed all the way there, and the entire time I was peeing that water out...and I DID PEE THE WATER OUT. I only retained 2cc's of it.

My doc was as thrilled as I was. The man who I thought a stoic stick in the mud [read my hystory...you'll understand] was wonderful. I told the doc that I had told Hubby [who was right there for support and love] that if I heard I would not have another foley, I was going to hug all over the doc. That doc looked at hubby, and raised his eyebrows in a 'hubba hubba' motion. I laughed, I cried, and I am every thankful to God for answering prayer! And to you dear sisters for your amazing love and support.

I have to stop myself. But..its gone, like a very bad memory. Now just have to work on making sure all keeps going well.

I know exactly how you feel--I came home with cath and kept it for 12 days!!! The day it was removed was so WONDERFUL!!

Take care. Most docs say to urinate frequently so that the bladder doesnt get to full. Dont forget to drink lots of water.

Happy, Happy Day!!! The Foley is OUT!

Hugs and kisses to all you Princessses [that is a translation of the smilies above].

And still the love and support continues. You are all great. Thank you for the suggestion of going frequently. As I am taking the same amount of water in as when I was draining the lizard [a not so lovely term I came to use regarding my foley and draining it...that one was for you Spasmo!] I have decided if it must be drained every two hours, right now, I will do the same. Two hours or with urge.

Off for a restful, healing, peaceful nights sleep.

Hoping that God continues to smile on me...and all of you as well.

. . . . what a relief, Karen! I am so happy that your appt. went well and you got rid of "the lizard." Your attitude is so great right now, I'm sure everything is sure to go smoothly from here on out. Don't forget that you are still a and need to take things slowly.

Way to go !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
