I'm a MESS! Please Help!

Hi everyone! It's 6 am and my pre-op is today and I think I might of gotten an hour of sleep last night. I'm making myself crazy! Does anyone know if there is something I can asked my Dr. for today to relax me? I think I'll go crazy! My mind is so busy that I just can't relax! I leave for Vegas tomorrow but I can't even get my bags packed cause I just can't focus! I wish my surgery date was here already and done with! Thanks for listening! Any advice?

Alot of ladies ask for something to relax them, if you need it, ask for it. I hope you have in Vegas!!! Take that time to try and relax and enjoy yourself.

Hi, I asked my doctor for some happy meds because I felt like I was going crazy before surgery. He gave me some and I was much better. I could actually sleep at night. I know it seems like forever before the day come but I promise once it's over it's like a 100lb. weight off your back. I hope you have luck with your meds. and can sleep and a speedy recovery.

I live in Vegas. There is soooo much to do here. Take the time to watch the fountains in front of the Bellagio. They are wonderful and very beautiful to watch. I think they start going off every 1/2 hr around lunchtime. By 7:00 pm, every 15 minutes. I point these out specifically because they can be very relaxingand beautiful enough to take your mind off of stuff.

On the surgery note, I'm very nervous! My pre op is today. Surgery on Tuesday, and I'm planning on asking my doctor for something to calm me through to Tuesday if I need it.

I made myself crazy too, at times I was totally terrified. Please know that the time before is actually worse than the surgery itself. I felt exactly like you do, wishing it were the day after the surgery and it was overwith. Ask your doctor for advice, maybe a low dose of valium. If you don't want to go that route, try some kava kava from the health food store. It will take the edge off, either way. And don't think about it too hard; and don't be like me, Googling everything because I needed to "know." Pray for peace. It will come.

Try to relax. The more relaxed you are the smoother things just fall into place. If you have problems getting sick after surgery, be sure to tell the Anethesiologists. They gave me Reglan and Pepcid before surgery, and I never got sick. Be calm, everything will be alright. I made it through. Surgery was on Aug. 25th, 2005, I'm now getting lots of energy and feeling pretty good. One lady was wild in the Surgery holding room, which made it bad for everyone else in there watching her ask a thousand questions, she even hollered over to me and asked if I had my surgery yet. I told the nurses she needed a cocktail shot to calm her down. They gave her one shortly. Be good to yourself and be calm, they will take good care of you. You are in good hands.
