Today I went my docs again and saw the doc I used to see before I saw the new one.. (both ladies) the other doc said I should have a colonoscopy as my father had bowel cancer.
She said the pain sounds like the lower bowel which is weird because the other doc said it was the upper bowel, my usual doc also said the upper bowel is supposed to have loops... I just don't understand as I think both docs are saying something different : ( so I'm paying the $160 and having it done Monday at 9am : ( I pray it's not cancer.
Thank you for caring, gentle hugs.

Hi mysweet,
You are really going through alot mysweet, I really feel for you, I am on my 20th year, since this all started too!!!
Some of your pain sounds soooo similar to mine, but obviously, not all of it. The stabbing pains sound the same, as do the "tendon pulling" pains, could be adhesions...we are all nearly guaranteed to get them after major abdo surgery. (look up the stats!)
Are you sure that your doc hasn't scared you into having the colonoscopy earlier??? You were going to wait (as, like me, you cannot afford it), but now you're going in...
Doctor's NEVER SEEM TO AGREE ON ANYTHING!!! They all seem to have different opionions, so how are we (as patients) supposed to know which one is the right one???
I HATE DOCTORS TOO!!!!! I spend my time researching the net now too, I have found more answers to my questions in the past 6 months, than I have in 15 years!!!
I am glad to hear that your pain is lessening, at least that's one good thing that's going on for you. Mine NEVER stops, it is very frustrating, to say the least!!!
Have you ever thought of trying another doctor, for another opinion??? Never hurts to....it seems the two you are seeing now can't agree, I wish I had of....

I still don't understand, that, if you have been diagnosed with a bowel obstruction (of any kind) why aren't you in hospital??? Have either of your docs discussed this with you??? It is very serious, and was just wondering why they weren't looking after it........
I relate to your anxiety and depression too, I think they go hand in hand with the hysterectomy!!!
Have you seen a bowel specialist??? Or are you seeing a gyno for these problems???
I wish you all the very best, I really do...just don't rush things (if you can help it), take your time, talk to others, and research as much as you can...and get another opinion or two if you need to, it's o.k to do that, IT IS YOUR BODY.
Love Radical.

Thank you Radical hugs. Maybe I scared me into having a colonoscopy : ( both docs don't know what the catscan means and the ovaries r great so I don't need to see a gyny. I'm confused as they both think it's in a different place.. it's easy to confuse me ahhh.
They don't worry about partial obstructions as much.. things are still moving, if I was vomiting etc that would mean a total obstruction and they'd be quicker at doing something : (
Supposedly the hospital has me on category 2 (1month wait), category 1 is for ppl who may die..
I still get the darn pain whenever I eat : ( tho it is alot less than it was, I'm so afraid whenever I eat. I don't think it's good for me to surf the net trying to diagnose myself, I scare myself!
It says sharp stabbing pain is something that has it's blood supply cut off : ( if it's the bowel.. it will start dieing!!! ahhh that really stressed me.. so I'm not researching any more.
The colonoscopy doc said they won't operate if it's adhesions.. as it could cause more, tho I bet he doesn't know for sure, I have to eat without pain surely.
I'm petrified of the colonoscopy. Worried the stuff I have to drink will cause pain : ( and worrying about the colonoscopy itself, tho I should be worried if he finds c. Gees that's gotta not happen as in the past I have extended healing and bleeding times so I sure don't want a big op : (
I'm hoping it's physco-samatic (spelling?) and it will go away by itself : )
Thank you for caring Radical. I kinda feel alone : (

Dear Mysweet,
Doctors are enough to confuse anybody!!!
I also agree with "self diagnosis" on the net, my dh is worried about me looking too far into things too...
I like this site though, the great women to talk to, for the support and the comfort, I think we're "safe" here!
I have thought I have had all sorts of things, and read into illnesses that I never needed to! (NOT ON THIS SITE!!!)
But, we're only human, and we need answers....We have a right to answers when it concerns our own bodies.
Mysweet, you sound like a very lonely lady, and my heart goes out to you....
I have a great husband who is very supportive, but, I get VERY lonely also....so if you want to talk to me privately, send me a private message, and if it is o.k. I will send you my e-mail address, or postal, so you know you have a friend to talk to whenever you feel like it. Someone who is going through the same sort of problems is great to communicate with, I have one lady I talk to every week in North Carolina, and we both find it great to "bounce" things off each other, and to just talk and vent our frustrations. She's had a hyster too!!!

They won't operate on me either (for the adhesions), as they DO COME BACK, usually worse. Each time you are operated on, the more you get, it is a very vicious cycle...
You are NEVER ALONE Mysweet, that's why there are sites like this one (this is the best I have found) so we aren't alone in our suffering and our pain....but I do agree that we both need to stop researching too much further....isn't that the doctor's job!!! (LOL)
Did you say that you have had a colonoscopy before??? Don't be scared, I will pray that the Lord is holding your hand all the way through it.
There are alot of wonderful women here to listen, and to offer advice, and encouragement, take it!!! WE ARE ALL HERE FOR YOU.

Thank you Radical huugs. I dont know how to send a pvt message, could u pvt me please?
I had my colonoscoppy which was noo prob tho I stressed badly leading up to it, and woooo the doc said IBS which he'd said before and no cancer or polyps woo hoo.
Boy did that make me happy : ) I'm hoping, with all the clean-out I had preparing for the colonoscopy it may have cured the pain... well I can hope : )
I feel alone.. probably a childhood thing tho thank the Lord my partner is a dear tho he is 20 yrs younger than me and has anxiety big time too so he doesn't handle stress well either.
I'd love to be able to chat to u by email : )
Now I'll wait till Nov 11 to see what the hospital say.. and hopefully the pain will go away by then : ) plus I'll work on minizing my stress while I wait.
Thank you Radical
