3 weeks post op and have pain

Firstly I'd like to introduce myself, I have had a total hysterectomy (womb, ovaries, tubes, cervix) on 12th September 2005 and pretty much feeling ok. I had my hysterectomy due to polycistic ovaries and endo and in the past found and treated for pre cancerous cells on my cervix. I am only 33. Have had a few complications but have lost faith in my hospital and was wondering if anybody could help me understand the searing pain I am feeling on my right side just on the round of my tummy. It feels like someone has a hod rod held to my side. It literally brings tears to my eyes. I am looking forward to being part of this wonderful community.

3 weeks post op and have pain

Hi there and Welcome! I also have pain in the same place and have read other posts stating the same. You really need to call your Dr. if something is that painful, it may need to be looked at. My pain is not as intense but am planning to also let my Dr know..Thinking mine may be bowel? Let us know what happens. Take care for now

3 weeks post op and have pain

I can only tell you what happened with me and I don't know your circumstances. About 5 days after surgery I had a lot of burning pain in one area. My doctor had told me he had found endo in the cul-de-sac. I did some research to find out exactly where that was and how he got rid of the endo and then it all made sense. He had had to "burn" the endo and that was the area that felt like it was burning. I think the area just kind of woke up at that point. If you can find out the details of what your doctor did and what area he did it, it might make more sense to you but you should check with them to make sure it is not something that they need to check out.

3 weeks post op and have pain

Hi thanks for replying, I went to see my doctor and he did give me a name, unrecognisable, but basically he said my nerve endings are "waking up" and he prescribed me some anti-inflamatory tablets and said it should settle down . Sooner rather than later I hope.

3 weeks post op and have pain

Definately call your dr. It is better to be safe than sorry. I had a good bit of pain in my 3rd week post op, especially when I would get up and down from a sitting position or when I would stand or walk too long. I had a little feeling of heaviness also. I am now 4 weeks and feel a lot better. Every once in a while I will hurt, but it is mainly when I do too much. Hope this helps and I hope you feel better. God bless!!
